I say, moderator chaps - can we have bigger avatars, say 80x80?

Catch him!
Snatch him!
Hold him!
Scold him!
Pounce him!
Trounce him!
Pick him up and bounce him!

Before we put the lad to task
May I be so curious as to ask
His name?

Nay, they are alright as they are. But thank ye for the Oliver! reference.

I think the avatars are super the way they are now.

 Darkshade.

the forum is too big for big avatars

Sep 01, 2002, 07:01 PM
Bah! They are fine as they are! If I decide to turn them back on they better be nice and small :D

Plus even if I don't have them on, maybe smaller size will make people not want them and therefore decreasing the load on the server and increasing the CFC experience.

No! We just recently got them, let's not push TF's patience to far! :D

The Avatars look perfect at this size. I don't want em bigger.
many people who want things bigger and bigger are only trying to compensate for um... ;)

A bigger avatar would make my picture of Homer look better. That's reason enough to make them larger...

However, I won't complain. My connection can barely handle this forum as it is...

Sep 01, 2002, 10:18 PM
80x80 avatars are FAR to big. 1x1 pixel avatars would be great though! :D

Sep 01, 2002, 11:01 PM
YES!!! Thunderfall is back!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

And change the requirement to 99999 posts :D :D :D :D :D

So once again people would be allowed a dot until they made their next post... Leave them the size as they are as most people don't seem to have a problem with it.

i dont really come to cfc for the avatars so i can get over it what ever they are

Sep 02, 2002, 06:03 AM
Away with the custom avatars and start using civ-avatars again. :D
No seriously, some custom avatars are quite nice but please don't make them bigger, it's the text in your post that counts not the image in front of it!

Sep 02, 2002, 11:18 AM
bigger??? 65x65 is just fine! TF was gracious enough to let us have custom avatars at all, and 80x80 (or bigger) is beyond our needs. (Actually, custom avatars at all are beyond our needs, but I like 'em. :D )

Sep 02, 2002, 11:25 AM
This we have right now is a good size. :yeah:

Sep 02, 2002, 12:23 PM
65x65 is all I need for my Mr Smith av, so I see no need for more ;)

Sep 02, 2002, 02:05 PM
Pages will take more to load!!!!

Leave them like they are!!!

Sep 02, 2002, 03:56 PM
Leave them as they are.

Sep 02, 2002, 04:18 PM
Don't change anything.

For the time being ;)

Sep 03, 2002, 12:13 AM
Bah, 80x80 still won't fit my avatar :(

Sep 03, 2002, 01:31 AM
Can't you resize it abit?

Sep 03, 2002, 10:54 AM
Yes, resize it!

Imagine how long it would take to load my internet pages if all avatars were so big as yours...

Sep 03, 2002, 01:31 PM
While we at it, why not have animated avatars? :)

pfft to download times I have cable!;)

65 X 65 is perfectly fine and what I seen used on most forums.

besides - you should be hooking Avatars/Banners into your signatures; it's the usual trick I use!

Sep 03, 2002, 03:07 PM
Eklektikos, where's your avatar from? It looks wierdly familiar. Oh, and I still want the avatar to be 80x80 :D

Sep 04, 2002, 01:00 PM
I think that is Jimmy Stuart, known best from ‘It's a wonderful life’

You said Mr. Smith, is that from ‘Mr. Smith goes to Washington’?

Keep them the way they are, we've slaved for years for these. Don't want to lose them!
