View Full Version : Our Workers
Mar 01, 2009, 01:34 PM
As important as workers our, I felt it would be wise to have a thread entirely for them. So this thread is only about our workers and nothing else. Besides, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have an empire.
Renata: Building a farm (3 turns) 1N of Ohlo.
Ilha Pedra: Building a cottage (4 turns) 2S of Cimeira.
Oyzar: Completed the road on the horses 1NW of Cimeira.
Nicolau: Completed farm on wheat W-NW of Serpente.
Methos: 1E of Serpent and heading to the Winery.
We currently have two workers that have just completed their tasks and need directions next turn. One is near Cimeira and the other is near Serpente. There is still work to be done around Cimeira, so I can see leaving him in the area for cottages. I can't recall off hand regarding Serpente, but if there is nothing immediately pressing, we should consider sending him to help out at the winery.

Renamed worker to oyzar and the new guy to Methos.
oyzar:Why did the worker on the horses build a road? that is compleetly useless since the river negates any effects it might give... It should head over to cottage more floodplains. Next turn go 1S start cottage then cancle next turn move onto floodplains and continue cottage.
Renata: Go north to serpente to help with cottaging up it and the new city.
Ilha Pedra: Need more cottages on those floodplains :)
Nicalou: head towards winery, we need to get a road to the new city but first complete the winery(road on both wines and one more tile of road to complete it), do this together with Methos.
Methos: Winery then road to new city, then we need to chop and improve for the new city... Hopefully new workers will handle the need for cows and cottages in serpente...
With Renata moving north we need another worker to help improve the capital(more farms but also mine on the grassland hill which is better to grow on than plains hills). Build this before the barracks, maybe whip if we can do it for 2 pop.

I agree with the worker suggestions oyzar has and that we will need another at the capital to improve a few more spaces since the wine will be hooked up shortly

Turn 71 Worker Actions:
Renata: Completed river grass farm 1N of Ohlo and moved towards Serpente. Currently planning on improving the cows for the food.
Ilha Pedra: Completed a cottage 2S ouf Cimeira. Should move 1NW and help oyzar complete its cottage.
oyzar: building a cottage (done in 4 turns) 1SW of Cimeira.
Nicolau: Completed road and should continue roading to The Winery.
Methos: Building a winery 1SE1E of Serpente (done in 3 turns).

Finish the winery with nicolau before continuing the road? serpente is going to work that tile asap after all...

I'm thinking food is the best right now for serpente, so improving the cows and and working them is more important then the wine.

Are Oyzar and Ihla Pedra near Cimeira for some times? This city needs its flood plains cottaged asap, plus there is the iron resource to connect. Remember to stack them when working on the same city (both workers were cottaging different floodplains) :)

Looking at the game for turn 75 now, and we (as always) have far more for the workers to do than we have workers to do it. Our current status is:
* Ilha Pedra and Oyzar are both near Cimeria.
* Rei Morgan (I just named him) are on the grass hill near Olho.
* Renata is pasturing the Cows near Serpente (3 turns left).
* Methos and Nicolau are on the flood plains near Vinheda.
We have a few very important upcoming tasks in the near time, namely:
* Chopping for the Great Wall near Olho.
* Reconnecting the Wheat near Serpente.
I think these two tasks must take priority over any other, but not in absurdum. I would suggest the following for t75 and on:
* Rei Morgan chops (3) and mines (4) the grass hill he is on.
* Renata completes the pasture (3) and roads (2) the Cows.
* Nicolau and Methos together finish the road on the flood plains they are on (1), move into Serpente (1), move onto the wheat and farm it (5 worker-turns, so 2/3 turns respectively).
* Ilha Pedra moves into Sombra (1) then onto the grassland forest 1W of Olho (1) and chops it (3).
* Oyzar keeps mining the iron, and otherwise generally improves near Cimeira.
One other possibility is to whip another worker out of Olho, with overflow into the Great Wall. I haven't had time to check the implications of doing that yet, but I don't think doing so should affect our other workers at this point.
After the Cows and Wheat are done near Serpente, I think the workers in the vicinity should all stay around and chop an aqueduct and then Hanging Gardens. Vinheda can wait.

I can't find anything to argue with there, unless possibly it would be to divert oyzar to chop something near Ohlo as well. But a) I'm not sure how many turns oyzar has left on the iron mine, and b) it'd really hurt cimeira. So I doubt it would be worth it.

Same here :) I am for letting Oyzar near Cimeira as the city still needs cottages on floodplains after the iron mine is up. iirc Oyzar will be done with its mine turn 78 (73+5)

If Vinheda can wait we should prolly whip a worker there at size 2... 4 turns of production then whip.
Mar 24, 2009, 09:04 AM
We need more workers. We can build on in Sombra when it reaches size 6 and whip one in vinhenda from size 2. What do people think about these ideas?
Mar 24, 2009, 09:15 AM
Agreed on both :).
Oyzar should (:please:) move on the fp west of the iron mine next turn and start cottaging it :)
Mar 24, 2009, 10:56 AM
I agree with building more workers.
@Ras, seems I was wrong with which worker was which before. oyzar is down by Olho chopping, while Ilha Pedra just finished the mine. I think Ilha Pedra should definitely cottage for Cimeira next.

OK then my request is for Ilha :)

Doesn't seem like too many is interested in the worker MM anymore, but if anyone have suggestions or the like, feel free to post here... I guess I should probably post a plan, there are 24 of them though...
