Sorry, I'm in work so don't have the code to hand, but in the (BTS) Civilizations Info file, there is a tag for derivitive civs, which I think determines which civs are created when a colony is granted independance (English create America, Celts create England etc). I wondered, is there any reason why multiple civs can't be specified here?

For example would it be possible to say England creates either America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand* when it grants independance?

*Obviously assuming those civs have been created and added to the game.

I've been asking this question for years!

I'd suggest to try it in world builder (if it doesn't crash outright), I've never seen it done.

How hard would it be to mod that in?

I dont think it would work because the XML tag appears to be set up for only one entry. You can try though.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to mod the SDK to add multiple derivative tags.

Would anyone know how to do this? I've been wanting this for a long time.

I totally forgot about the colonies feature. I always play with vassals disabled. If only colonies could be enabled without vassals always making my wars irritating and making my friends declare war on me when they accept my target as a vassal.
