View Full Version : Preview: Canyon Type Flood Plains
Goldfool Mar 08, 2009, 09:42 AM I know that this was originally Pounder's idea, but it's always good to have alternates.
Here is my version of Flood Plains.

Balthasar Mar 08, 2009, 09:47 AM I have an immediate use for this. Good idea!

Are they OK as is, or is there something I should add to them.
Madeira Mar 08, 2009, 10:34 AM Looks good!
Balam-Agab Mar 08, 2009, 04:33 PM They look good, although I think you should darken the cliff face, so that they stand out more against the desert. It is just my opinion, however.
Pounder Mar 08, 2009, 04:44 PM Well they are darker and deeper than my original version.
They are definitely an improvement over mine and I will use them when you post them:goodjob:

Agreed - I actually missed seeing them at first
Balthasar Mar 08, 2009, 10:24 PM Did you change the first picture? Because they seem to 'stand out' just fine, to me. I'll be adjusting the brightness, etc. to match Ares' desert anyway.
W.i.n.t.e.r Mar 08, 2009, 10:50 PM not bad at all :) time to dedust and update my old CiV-kitchen after all
Goldfool Mar 09, 2009, 06:55 AM I didn't make any changes since I first posted.
I thought I was making them too dark, I see them fine in my game.
Here is the comparison to the original Floodplains.

CiaranB123 Mar 09, 2009, 07:59 AM I think that some of the cliffs look like they are pointing in instead of going down, like this: /(river)\, but they should look like this: \(river)/
Do you know what I mean?
againsttheflow Mar 10, 2009, 05:31 PM We have similar cliffs at a creek near our house and you have to be careful of going near the edge because some of them are overhanging. I don't exactly see them doing that prominently here anyway.
