View Full Version : after upgrade canīt see the movies....

hi, lets see if someone can help me... i am a little confused, i read that some people had problems AFTER the intro movie with a black screen..... , i am having this similar but not the same problem.... i just upgrade my pc.... now it is a celeron 1,7 ghz, geforce 2 mx440, before that i had a viper 770 ultra and never have a problem. By the way i am running windows 98....
Well the problem is that now... i canīt see any movies..... the intro movie crash and i also try downlaoding a saved game and see what happen with the space race movie and voila..... it crash too.....
If any on can help me i will be the more happy man on earth with new comp and civ III running properly :goodjob:
THanks in advance for any tip, and sorry if there are some english mistake, it is not my native language....

You should check out the bink video website and download the free bink video tool there:

They also have a FAQ page for some bink problems.

First, thanks for your answer Thunderfall and yes i downloaded the utilities in that page and can see the movies over that without any problems, but still in game the crash continue.... i will check now in detail the faq and see if i can solve the problem, will post here the results, anyway if other people have more ideas, i am listening :)

oh by the way one more point... when the movies crash and i puchs alt+control+supr and come back to the windows dekstop i return at 640*480 when i have the monitor at 1024*768....

I actually had the same problem as you several months ago but the funny thing is I forgot how I fixed it (or maybe it fixed itself).

Have you upgraded your Civ3 to 1.29f?

Ok Thunder, try to make a search in your databank brain and remember :D :D and yes i had reinstalled the game several times with the same result :confused:

welli just discover it is not a video problem, it is a sound problem!!!! grrrrrrrrr.... i am oponing other post explaining the point, i hope someone can help me this time:p
