Perfection Mar 15, 2009, 04:33 PM Is it bad that my doctor's office is located on Terminal Drive? Not bad for me. Flying Pig Mar 15, 2009, 04:38 PM You know the Russians changed their highway 666 to... you guessed it... 616! And there is no seat 666 in the European Parliament Onionsoilder Mar 15, 2009, 05:40 PM Ignore me... Sharwood Mar 16, 2009, 02:04 AM I once visited a bird sanctuary. It was owned by a couple named Crowe, and employed at least one of each of the following; Sparrow, Starling, Peacock, Robbins, Fowler and Dickie Bird. After I laughed my arse off, they admitted to being quite amused themselves when they first figured it out. Also, I once knew a guy who lived in Rapist's Crescent. Needless to say he never told women that, and the cuoncil eventually changed the name. However, it took about five petitions. don't ask me why. Mirc Mar 16, 2009, 06:31 AM One of my many phone numbers contains "13 13". My mother was born on a Friday, 13th. My first flight was with a plane piloted by captain "Bird" (well, "Pasare" = bird). My father's phone number contains 666. :p Ziggy Stardust Mar 16, 2009, 07:07 AM Why did #13 get such a bad rap anyway? Sharwood Mar 16, 2009, 07:12 AM Why did #13 get such a bad rap anyway? Have you ever raised a teenager? Mirc Mar 16, 2009, 07:14 AM Why did #13 get such a bad rap anyway? The last supper in the Bible. :) I'm pretty sure the Bible itself didn't say anything about it, but people interpreted it as unlucky because of that. IIRC some later superstitions from different sources also contributed. Ziggy Stardust Mar 16, 2009, 09:40 AM Have you ever raised a teenager?I had a cat that lived to be 13. I been wikiïng to figure this out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/13_(number) MagisterCultuum Mar 16, 2009, 11:36 PM 12 is considered a number of order and completion, so adding one more to that represents chaos and rebellion. 6 is the number of man and wordiness, representing how we fall short of the godly perfection represented by 7. 13 is the 6th prime number. ParadigmShifter Mar 16, 2009, 11:50 PM 6 is bad because it is the only star shape with number of points >= 5 which can't be drawn by a point to point traversal without lifting your pen off the paper. It is perfect though ;) Camikaze Mar 17, 2009, 02:00 AM My distant relatives, with the surname Stiff, run the Stiff Funerals business. What is that, Modern Hebrew, or some other language? Definitely not ancient/biblical hebrew, in that there is only one word for prostitute (which applies to men as well as women), 'זונה' (Zayin, Vav, Nun, Hey), (pronounced Zonah).
