View Full Version : City of Bavaria
disorganizer Sep 06, 2002, 06:41 AM Welcome to the City of Bavaria.
I, the lord mayor of bavaria, welcome you in our great city. This city is the capitol of our nation, and as such it is and will be the cultural and productional centre of our civilization.
From here, everything we know started. At Mt. Victory, our house-mountain in the south, our leaders received the orders of the gods of war to settle at this spot. We have all we need here, and we will soon be the centre of the world.
You will find all needed information about this city in the thread. At any time, the ears of our administration will be open to proposals about the running of bavaria as well as the design and information being brought to you by this thread.
Also, feel free to speak up on any topic you like in this thread. See it as a public marketplace of the city of bavaria, where you can talk to your friends and all the strange foreigners we have here.

disorganizer Sep 06, 2002, 06:43 AM locations in bavaria:
"Fanatika Square" (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31515)
This is the main business district of Bavaria, located on the small inland sea next to bavaria. See thread for details on which businesses are located in Bavaria.
The headquarters of citizen groups located in bavaria will also go there.
"Victory District"
Located directly on the base of Mt. Victory, this district holds all governmental buildings as well as all embassies. The house of the governor and the lord mayor can also be found there.
VD is the most beautiful and high-priced part of the city, with the palace of the president centering nice alleys and the wonderful gardens of our foreign embassies adding some foreign flavour to it.
VD is devided into the four Quarters:
"National Quarter"
big office buildings of our departments
"Foreign Quarter"
embassies of our foreign friends
"Bohemian Quarter"
provincial administration, national senate and city administration
this area also holds the palace and all houses in bohemia owned by the government (houses for leaders, president, governor of bohemia and mayor of bavaria).
Anyone can buy a house in the BQ, but it must be at least a mansion.
citizen group headquarters in bavaria:

Wanted:
How shall our build queue continue if it runs our? Archers and Swordman as soon as possible? Then Swap to Horsemen?
Please discuss in here.
Also i need proposals for the name of our Government district. We called the business district "Fanatika Square", now how do we call the part of town with all governmental buildings?
Cyc Sep 23, 2002, 05:03 AM I posted Bavaria build queue suggestions in the Bohemia discussion thread, but I'll post here too.
Two different suggestions, I'm not sure if either is best.
1. Archer, Worker, Sword, Sword (putting a Worker in when the pop gets too high).
2. Archer, Archer, Worker, Sword, Sword (putting a Worker in when the pop gets too high).
I would also ask the the Lux rate get moved to 10%.
disorganizer Sep 23, 2002, 03:03 PM I would prefer the second one. Just to speed preparation for war.
Octavian X Sep 23, 2002, 03:54 PM We don't have iron connect yet, though. Until our culture expands, we won't have iron.
Even after that, it might be awhile until it gets connected.
Cyc Sep 23, 2002, 05:04 PM I think with either plan, the worker can complete the tile SW of Bavaria in 4 turns and the slide to the tile SE of Eyrei's game tile, and build a road to the new Iron city before a Sword is completed.
But thank you for the info OctavianX.
eyrei Sep 23, 2002, 09:47 PM So when are we revolting?
Cyc Sep 23, 2002, 11:07 PM Only when we drink beer, Eyrei. :)
Octavian X Sep 23, 2002, 11:26 PM Soooo... When some of Fanatika's finest get drunk, they overthrow our government?
So much for democracy...

I prefer queue #2, but don't actually like either of 'em! :p
It seems like a hideous waste of shields to be building swordsmen from scratch when we could instead be building warriors ready for an upgrade. I can't remember off the top of my head exactly how many shields swordsmen cost, but it's at least 5 times as much as warriors. Surely it would therefore be far more efficient to build at least a few warriors ready for upgrade before we start producing swordsmen conventionally.
Cyc Sep 24, 2002, 06:22 AM Warriors are 10 shields
Archers are 20 shields
Swordsmen are 30 shields
Bavaria is producing 5 shields a turn at this time
Bavaria will grow in 10 turns
This leaves enough time to knock out 2 Archers and a Worker
We have 3 warriors now doing some scouting that can all be back in Bavaria in 10 turns. It will take 10 turns to finish the road now being worked on and a new road built to the new Iron city. At this time we could upgrade those 3 warriors for what? 60g of our now 82g? Of course in 10 turns we'll have another 70g, I think. So in 12 turns, we could have 3 archers and 3 swordsmen ready to advance towards the Aztecs. Or we could scrap the Archer production and build 4 Warriors before the worker. That would give us 7 Swordsman in 12 turns, if I remember the gpt correctly.
But will the Iron being hooked up to our barracks in Bavaria eliminate the Warrior from the production list?
donsig Sep 24, 2002, 06:52 AM We could also up the production to 7 s/t though this would double Bavaria's growth time.
Eklektikos Sep 24, 2002, 07:11 AM Remind me not to work from memory when I could simply look things up on the main site, because those arrows really hurt as they went through my foot just now :crazyeye:
No city with access to iron can build warriors, which is why I've been opposed to being too hasty to connect the stuff up. I have never had any intention of waiting around for swordsmen before starting an attack on the Aztecs - the spearman escorted archers should be sufficient to make the first city capture unaided. in the meantime we could have built ourselves up a nice little force of warriors, upgraded them to swordsmen, and begun moving them into position to carry out any necessary follow up.
disorganizer Sep 24, 2002, 01:59 PM what about not connecting the new city? we could propably connect bav to the iron.
the new city could produce warriors from the start to be upgraded in bavaria, while bavaria keeps up production of swordmen.
Cyc Sep 24, 2002, 05:49 PM Dis, I think planting the settler right on top of the Iron won the poll for settler placement.
disorganizer Sep 25, 2002, 03:09 AM So is the resource disappearing when we put it there? I was told that before when discussing other positions!
We should clarify this! Urgently!
disorganizer Oct 03, 2002, 02:33 PM Updated stats and pictures in the 1st posts.
Please contribute to the build queue, as it will run out in 6 turns!
disorganizer Oct 06, 2002, 07:28 AM Updates stats and pics of 1575BC
I will propose continuing to produce warriors.
I will also request to send another garrison unit to bavaria, because 2/2 happy/unhappy citizens is too dangerous so another stationing will propably help out. After the incense is then connected, we maybe can even expand bavaria to 5 citizens.
