View Full Version : Weird New Post thing
Strider Sep 08, 2002, 12:48 PM I hope theirs not a thread like this already (I checked at the names, but didn't see a thread that looks like it's name might relate to this topic)
Ok. I post in a thread and go throughout posting. After alittle while I go back to my User CP and it says theirs a new post , but the last post was by me. Anyone else have this problem?
Zarn Sep 08, 2002, 01:41 PM I get alot of strange things. That is one of them. It's strange, but I can deal with things like that.
Strider Sep 08, 2002, 02:07 PM I also have one that all the text disappears while typing it in the post reply(sometimes happens sometimes don't). I have to hit enter a couple of times to get it back.
BCLG100 Sep 10, 2002, 02:05 PM i have it when it says there are new posts on the actual forum and the last post was by me
Knight-Dragon Sep 10, 2002, 10:28 PM Strange things happen in the forums. Like the time when I log into the site and it tells me I'm logged in as Fayadi. Of course, I can't post under his username but it's funny all the same.
Just live with it. ;)
Strider Sep 11, 2002, 02:23 PM Also my messed up sig.... I type in leader and it turns it to ******
BCLG100 Sep 11, 2002, 02:31 PM oh yeah thats the censorship thing only mods can have leader in there title notice how i have spelt leader
Strider Sep 11, 2002, 02:42 PM ?? I wonder why??

I'm the four term science ****** :) Because some posters might abuse it by claiming to be forum leaders i.e. the admins, and mislead newer posters. ;) Same goes for some other words like mod etc.
Dell19 Sep 12, 2002, 08:20 AM You could call yourself the Science Advisor
BCLG100 Sep 12, 2002, 11:04 AM or turn it round so it says laeder most people wont notice
Padma Sep 12, 2002, 12:17 PM Or perhaps you could call yourself a Science Lëader, like PH is an ex-möd. :)
Strider Sep 12, 2002, 02:17 PM How do you make the o with the : above it? Or the e with the : above it?
Level Sep 17, 2002, 08:24 AM Copy it from Character Map, found in Start\Programs\Accessories(\System Tools).

I notice it quite often, well when I see your posts...

How do you make the o with the : above it? Or the e with the : above it? If you don't want to use the Character Map (suggested above), then for ë, press and hold the ALT-key, and on the "Number Pad", enter 0235, then release the ALT-key. (You have to use the number pad; it doesn't work with the number row above the letters.)
For ö it's ALT-0246.
:D
BCLG100 Sep 17, 2002, 09:59 AM okay most people who arnt dell and arnt very observant wont notice
Lefty Scaevola Sep 17, 2002, 10:04 AM Is thaeir a table available (with most windows instalation) of these alt charatoers, if so where would I find it.
Eklektikos Sep 17, 2002, 10:07 AM Lefty, it's in Character Map. Look at Level's post for directions. Make sure you select "System" from the drop down font menu, and then simply select the character you want from the chart. The Alt + XXXX code for that character will appear in the bottom right corner of the window.
Lefty Scaevola Sep 17, 2002, 10:30 AM I was looking for a table I could printout.
hbdragon88 Sep 18, 2002, 04:54 PM Weird things that happen:
There's a circle with a X in the second column of a thread that means I was the last - but I wasn't! Weird.
I am logged in - I use the auto-login - and I can't vote in the polls! This may not be a weird thing - I may just have to relogin - but it's annoying!
Strider Sep 18, 2002, 05:24 PM Maybe we should re-name this thread to:
CFC Tricks & Glitch's :)
Knight-Dragon Sep 18, 2002, 07:54 PM No. CFC - The X-files. ;)
King of Camelot Sep 18, 2002, 08:44 PM CFC - Mysteries of the Forum
Some material may frighten small children. All the information is based on true events. :D

That just means that the thread has a poll attached to it. Same way it will say Poll: Thread title in the title box.

You can also use Alt and 137 if you're too lazy to press four keys in a row. ;)
It won't work with the Alt Gr key, although I have no idea what that does. :(

Here's a new and strange one I found today:
Ok have my computer where it auto-maticly logs in with my name and password. Well today I decided to change my name. I looked around looking for the log off button and after about 5 mins of looking I finally found it. I moved my mouse cursor up to it and the button changed to text. I clicked and nothing happened... Strange isn't it?
Anyone else have any weird CFC events?
Chieftess Sep 19, 2002, 05:07 PM I see threads/posts as new even when I read them... 4 hours ago! :D

LOL....
I wonder why very few mods/admins have answered to all the little problems here ;)....
Through I think their just uncontrolable glitch's.
Now who's up to finding away to increase post count without spamming?
hbdragon88 Sep 22, 2002, 03:24 PM They are busy with other forums. SF isn't their biggest concern here I should think.
You have over 1,000 posts and you want to know how to increase the post count?
This is some ways I do it. I reply to every topic that I have suscribed to, look through topics a day or two old, and go to forums that I never have been to check them out.

Strider Sep 28, 2002, 03:04 PM Something else that happens to me(and is really annoying)
On my user options I have send me an e-mail when someone posts in a subcribe thread off(or whatever the thing in their says), but it still sends me an e-mail. I really wish their was a way to get rid of this :(

Some people have much more even though they were registered around the same time around me. There's one member - I forgot the exact name - who has 644 posts even though he registered around the same time. Wow - I was shocked. Then again - I don't post every day though.
