Brother Adam goes up to the bar...

Hey Barman, We believe that we ordered a couple of Riot Beers. And as for the **Distilled Banana Juice, why not. I'll have one of those, and one for Sister Eve.

Oct 22, 2002, 03:32 PM
Brother Adam takes his **Distilled Banana Juice...

Well, this is an unusual brew. We have nothing like this in the Community.

Takes a sip of the drink, then downs it

Hmm, a sweet concoction with a pleasant taste. Doesn't have the same kick to it to a dram of McNulty's Whisky, but nice nonetheless.

Takes a draught of beer, while Sister Eve sips her Banana Juice

disorganizer
Oct 22, 2002, 03:33 PM

Well my friends Brother Adams and Sister Eve, how much would i have to pay to be the designated importer of that "whiskey"? of course i will have the bookkeeping calculate it for me then, but if i take it i would like to be the only supplier in fanatika to sell it ;-)

Cyc

I'll take another beer, Dis. Thanks.

*Sits down with Brother Adam and Sister Eve*

Greetings. You know, I learned about the Spiritualism concepts from this "Avatar", I believe he called himself, in a city called Britannia. Quite interesting. I briefly tried aligning with one of the factions, but couldn't decide which one I liked best.

@Disorganiser, I believe that the Community Souvenir Shoppe run by our fellow countrymen has the import licence for McNulty's Whisky, you will have to ask them about securing a supply. I believe that they have already expressed a wish to do business with you on that matter.

@Cyc, We know not of that Avatar of whom you speak, nor of that city of Britannia. As far as we are aware, Spiritualism has no factions. We worship all the four main Spirits and respect the Lesser Spirits.

disorganizer, I'm sorry to be the bearer of this official letter to you:

"The Bank of Valhalla, in the interest of its customers and shareholders, will be discontinuing the "Run Your Business" program. Although it was a steady income stream, the profits on the venture were insufficient to warrant the expense of maintaining the program.

We would like to thank our past RYB customers and hope we may help you in other ways."

* Cyc takes a drink of his beer, looks at it, then at Brother Adam and Sister Eve. *

You know, you're right! Now that I think about it, Spiritualism wasn't what he called it. His beliefs had to do with Magic. mmm... basically the same thing, but with a twist. I'll tell you what, why don't I post about it in your thread. Quite interesting stuff you two preach. I like the T-Sirts too.

Oct 24, 2002, 03:43 PM
Brother Adam goes to the bar again...

Barman, another two Riot Beers for myself and Sister Eve. And any drink that Cyc wants.

Yes Cyc, we were sent to Fanatika to preach the word of the Spirits, and to attend the religious parade. We certainly did not expect to find ourselves fighting for our lives in Morgana!

Sister Eve speaks

Indeed! That was a terrible day. We are most detemined to bring the word of the Spirits to the people of Fanatika. Hopefully if the people embrace the word, they will not turn to such horrible methods of terror.

Barman, give me a **** and Sister Eve a ***.

Ah, Brother Grandmaster, of course I will tell you about our faith. There are of course, four main Spirits which represent Earth, Fire, Water and Air. The Earth Spirit, Terra is the mother of the other three. Added to this are the Lesser Spirits, which are many in number. They do specific functions or look after specific parts of our lives. There are many kinds of Lesser Spirits, some were mortals who were transformed into Lesser Spirits, while others are the offspring of the Spirits of Fire, Water and Air.

Phew, really all you need to know about the Spiritualist religion can be found in the "Religions of Fanatika" thread. Alternatively, you could subscribe to the Spiritualist newsletter, "The Lighthouse." I believe that the Community Souvenir Shop can make deliveries to you. Even in this time of war.

He said that wi' the war an all, foreign citizens were being quizzed aboot their loyaltaes! Fit a damn nerve. Ah wis never sae angry as then. Sister Eve: Brother Adam has something he wants to say.

Nudges Brother Adam

Brother Adam: Aye. I want to apologise for my conduct last night. It was unbecoming for a follower of the Spirits to be overcome by another spirit. I followed the way of Barakon, the Spirit of Celebration a little too enthiuastically and I was punished for it.
Holds his forehead, Man was I punished for it.

Sister Eve: We are not against the consumtion of alcohol. Our leader, Brother McNulty is known for his production of it. We teach that it is best served in moderation. That is why, Barman, we will have two Riot Beers please.

We are truly honoured that so many of you are offering us lodgings. For the moment, however, we must work to set up our Mission at the Marillion. Once we are established, it will be our pleasure to tour Fanatika and take up your generous offers.

Until then, you can find out more about our religion by looking in at our "Religions of Fanatika" thread or by subscribing to the Lighthouse, the Spiritualist newsletter, which is published often. Subscriptions can be obtained through The Community Souvenir Shoppe.

Cyc, you're generous on the free drink tickets, but where do I have to go?
btw, you haven't received your 3 *dbj, did you? You can collect your prize now.

After long consideration, I've decided that McNulty receives the runner up prize. The main reason is, that brother adam and sister eve were the only customers who participated in a duet. Plus, sister eve was our only female contestant (I pray that I don't insult Cyc here, since I have very little information on his gender, nor I wish to insult brother adam, although I doubt that he, being a friar and all, has any cross-dressing tendencies)!
So, brother adam and sister eve, you can come around to pick up a shot of *dbj each!

Which leaves me with the conselation prize. I'd like to take this opportunity to present it to the person who made this contest possible: my boss, disorganizer, knight of the lancre!

Now, let's all sing along now:

I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay...

Smooth. Anyway, there is lots to be done before we go off on our tour. The Mission has to be set up. And of course, we have to arrange a chaplain service for the fighting troops. We have to be able to give them the Spiritual support needed for this war. It could indeed be a while before we can make our tour of Fanatika. Hopefully, with the help of our convert Brother Grandmaster, and the generousity of those sympathetic to our beliefs, such as Brother Shaitan and Brother Naevon, we should be able to see your land all the sooner.

Thank you, Shabbaman. I'll take a raincheck on that drink until the Victory Party after the war.

You and everyone else can use those drink tickets at the Cattleman Smokehouse. It's the Large house at the foot of the hills in the Bavarian Forest. Just take a carraige or horse on our fine new roads south from Bavaria into the beautifully scenic tile of The Bavarian Smokehouse (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?threadid=32562&perpage=20&display=&pagenumber=1) . This link will take you there. The Cattleman starts on the first page and carries on to the last page. Hope to see you all there.

Thank you. Well the training goes on, as does the work in setting up the Mission. We held a short, informal ceremony today to mark the begining of the work to convert the Demigrand Hall into our place to have our services. The workmen have not actually shown up yet, but Brother Adam and I are undeterred. A little hard work is good for the soul.

Have you heard about the dangers of this night. Apparently, all manner of evil creatures are roaming the woods and the moors. Myself and Brother Adam are hoping that no-one meets with one of these beasts. But if we do, we will have our faith in the Spirits to protect us. A word of advice though, no-one go home by yourself tonight, travel with a friend.

The percentages (20% for each waiter, 12.5% for bookkeeping, rest for me) is applied to the net-income, being 80% of the income for normal items (in here, events and subscription) and 60% for the wholesale items.

I must say i really enjoyed it, as it was pretty ordered and well organized. Im also thinking about coming back to politics if this way of government continues (not the chat times, i mean the way things are done and discussed).
But rumors say people tend to start rioting about the chat times though... So what are you plans on those?

Glad to see you here, Sire! I understand about the difficulties getting here, especially lately. Hopefully the Great Thunderfall has these things in hand. :)

I haven't even been able to download the last chat, myself - I'm depending on donsig's summaries in Die Fanatischen Zeiten for information. But it was refreshing to see you grab the bull by the horns, as it were, and move ahead a full 15 turns!

Now if I could only manage to be at those chats! :D

Nov 06, 2002, 03:09 PM
Well, the early chat time is necessary when I'm running the show. There was a lot of initial complaining but things seem to have settled down a bit. I'd like to move to a split DP system with me and my VP alternating. I'd do an early morning Wednesday chat and he'd do an evening weekend chat. Things have to get a bit better prepared on the Forum side before I'll be comfortable doing that though.

Thanks for the delicious brew. It's time for me to mount up and head home.

That one was to stress my enthousiasm (according to Gonzo, we can post more these days...)

Here we go:

I'm a lumberjack and I'm O.K.
I sleep all night and I work all day
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And have buttered scones for tea.

I chop down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I want to be a girlee
Just like my dear papa.

It's great, innit? It's not 'bout me though, I think it's from some guy out there in Doughnut Forest.

Brother Adam and Sister Eve walk up on to the Stage...

Brother Adam: After Sister Eve's performance last time, we thought that we would do a duet this time...

Sister Eve: They say we're young and we don't know
We won't find out until we grow
Adam: Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby I got you

Adam: Babe
BOTH: I got you babe
I got you babe

Eve: They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
Adam: I guess that's so, we don't have a pot
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got

Adam: Babe
BOTH: I got you babe
I got you babe

Adam,: I got flowers in the spring
I got you to wear my ring
Eve: And when I'm sad, you're a clown
And if I get scared, you're always around

Eve: Don't let them say your hair's too long
'Cause I don't care, with you I can't go wrong
Adam: Then put your little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb

Adam: Babe
BOTH: I got you babe
I got you babe

Adam: I got you to hold my hand
Eve: I got you to understand
Adam: I got you to walk with me
Eve: I got you to talk with me
Adam: I got you to kiss goodnight
Eve: I got you to hold me tight
Adam: I got you, I won't let go
Eve: I got you to love me so

BOTH: I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe
I got you babe.

To keep my lead:
The Inquisition (Let's begin)
The Inquisition (Look out sin)
We have a mission to convert the Jews (Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew)
We're gonna teach them wrong from right.
We're gonna help them see the light
and make an offer that they can't refuse. (That those Jews just can't refuse)
Confess, don't be boring.
Say yes, don't be dull.
A fact you're ignoring:
It's better to lose your skull cap than your skull (or your govalt!)
The Inquisition (what a show)
The Inquistion (here we go)
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away.
But the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

"I was sitting in a temple. I was minding my own business.
I was listening to a lovely Hebrew mass.
Then these Papus persons plungered and they throw me in a dungeon and they shove a red hot poker up my ass.
Is that considerate? Is that polite?
And not a tube of Preperation H in sight!"

"I'm sittin' flickin' chickens and I'm lookin' throught the pickins' and suddenly thes goyim pull down valls.
I didn't even know them and they grabbed my by the stoghum and started playing ping pong with my balls!
Ooh, the agony! Ooh, the shame!
To make my privates public for a game?"

The Inquisition (what a show)
The Inquisition (here we go)
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away.
But the Inquisition's here and it's here to-
"Hey Toquemada, walk this way."
"I just got back from the Auto-de-fe."
"Auto-de-fe? What's an Auto-de-fe?"
"It's what you oughtn't to do but you do anyway."
Will you convert? "No, no, no, no."
Will you confess? "No, no, no, no."
Will you revert? "No, no, no, no."
Will you say yes? "No, no, no, no!"
Now I asked in a nice way, I said, "Pretty please."
I bent their ears, now I'll work on their knees!
"Hey Toquemada, walk this way. We got a little game that you might wanna play, so pull that handle, try you're luck."
"Who knows, Toq, you might win a buck!"

"How we doin', any converts today?"
"Not a one, nay, nay, nay."
"We flattened their fingers, we branded their buns!
Nothing is working! Send in the nuns!"

The Inquisition, what a show.
The Inquisition, here we go.
We know you're wishin' that we'd go away!
So all you Muslims and you Jews
We got big news for all of yous:
You'd better change your point of views TODAY!
'Cause the Inquisition's here and it's here to stay!

Thank you, Mel Brooks. If I should fall out of the lead, "For now its......."

Barkeep, a weizen if you would.... and now to punish the ears of Fanatika....

A long time ago...me and my brother Kyle here,
We were hitchhiking down a long and lonesome road.
All of a sudden, there shined a shiny demon,
in the middle of the road.
And he said, "Play the best song in the world, or I'll eat your soul."
Well me and Kyle, we looked at each other, and we each said...
"Okay."
And we played the first thing that came to our heads
Just so happened to be, the best song in the world.
It was the best song in the world.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, and it saved our butts, because the demon want to kill us.
Oh.
But he was forced to set us free, by the honor code that demons...
Have to live by.
Cause it's Satan's Surprise and it's magic!
And it's a mystical disguise...
It's the devil's song and it's tragic!
You are the mystical-eyed virgin and you're rocking!
Well needless to say, the beast was stunned.
Whip crack, went the swampy tail, and the beast was done.
He asked us, "Be ye angels?"
And we said "Nay! We are but men, rock!"
This is not the greatest song in the world, no.
This is just a tribute.
Couldn't remember the greatest song in the world, no.
No! This is a tribute, oh!
To the greatest song in the world, alright!
To the greatest song in the world, alright!
It is just the best mother****in' song, the greatest song in the world.

--skattin'--

Oh mama, Lucifer.
And the peculiar thing is this, my friends:
The song we played on that fatefull night,
didn't actually sound anything like this song!
This is just a tribute.
You've gotta believe me.
And I wish you were there.
Just a matter of opinion.
Ah! F**k!
Good god! And God lovin!
There's no surprise to find you can't stop him!

This is why I'm in band, not chorus....

Shabbaman- this loyal barkeep has been dutifully polishing glasses waiting for the next customer. I truly believe erosion is starting to set in(on the glasses).

gunning1- this is his show now and he should be rewarded for it.

disorganizer- this is his pub and it desrves to remain vital throughout the entire Demogame.

Fanatika- this pub is one of our nation's oldest institutions. Let us not misserve Fanatika by making it a memory.

So put your reservations aside and let us speak of many things! Incidentally, I could probably earn your trust by having a drink in my hand. Shabbaman, one Riot Beer please!

In the Community, our President gives us regular updates in the events and decisions of importance of the Community. And The Lighthouse is distributed to all who would read it. Also a person called OlafS publishes a papyrus called The Lake which also tells the news of the day.

Brother Adam: Aye! If only there were such things in Fanatika. We have a much more developed economy and commerse system in Fanatika, but I fear that the workings of government and the news of important events is more of a mystery here.

Sister Eve: Both Brother Adam and myself have been registered as permenant residents of Fanatika ever since the leader of the Jedis invited us here all those years ago. We have taken part in life in this fair land for a long time, but have been regarded as outsiders, despite having the house and horse gifted to us and a regular stipend from the government. While some of the citizens of Fanatikan have taken us to their hearts, and even gone far beyond with their generousity and conversion to Spiritualism, both Brother Adam and myself still feel that we are not truly accepted by Fanatika. The fact that we never seem to be able to find out what is happening at any given time does seem to strengthen this feeling.
