I found an interesting spot while exploring. It contains 5 gold resources in an 'L' shape, however it is all desert with no flood plains. The only workable land beside it is a wheat tile and 2 plains tiles on the outskirts of the spot. I am wondering if it is worth it in the long run to claim those gold resources, or if I should let Hatty claim them. I included a picture of the spot.

Look over the shoreline and see if there is sea food

I'd say its much too far from your capital and will kill your early economy through maintenance.
But if you come across sites similar to this in the future, try to split the gold between multiple cities, in this case the wheat on the right will allow you to work 2 golds, exploring the left side will likely find something else you can get enough food from to work the other 2.
IMO It wouldn't really be worth building a city in a position to grab them all, only one will affect you cand you couldn't work more than a couple.

Thanks for the input. I checked. There is a lone fish resource, but it is in the ocean 2 tiles away from the gold. I'll pass on the opportunity.

I would go for it, looking at it you can snag all five gold, as well as the wheat and cow. Build there and get enough culture to get a full cross. The wheat and cows will let you support enough population to collect all the gold.

The OP is playing as Charlie, so
First the Capital is way down in the South too far away, too much maintenance and Hattie willl likely settle near there before a new settler could reach it.
Secondly Hattie owns the Cow tile, creative says getting it without a war is extremely unlikely.

After founding a second city closer to my capital, and researching code of laws (for the Rathaus) I decided to get at least 4 of the 5, because I came to find out that in the same immediate vicinity of the gold was the closest source of iron, and there was no copper anywhere near me. So I settled 1S of the middle gold on the bottom, so I got several workable food tiles, and the iron and 4 gold sources, without killing my economy (gotta love rathauses).
