I have been playing for a while now and i have noticed that the AI seams to declare war at certain parts of the tech tree. THis is about 75 % of the time and I am not talking about random sneak attacks.

1. I have noticed that in a heavy war game there is usually one world war about the first three eras and one every other era after it.

2. In other cases, (most in my case) there is not a single war until the late middle ages which does nothing to anyone but tick each other off. After this there is a huge war about the time everyone gets rifles and cannons.

After that there is usually a massive modern or late industrial era war.

I am not a warmongers, so I do not get involved in many wars, so option two is what usually happens.

I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and how they use it to there advantage. One time I wanted to have a war between the industrial and modern eras. So I waited and eventually almost everyone went to war. I had been building up and I continued to build up while they fought. Once I thought everyone was done fighting and had lost most of their troops I took over 75% OF THE pangea and won a domination.
