First let me tall you few words as an introduction.

Even though I am not an active member here, I keep coming quite often for years and years, mostly to keep an eye on Giant's earth map (I really like history), I want by this way to thank to Gengis Kai as he has put much into that project.

Civ. Iv is a great game with an unique AI (it's not perfect, alwyas can be better but it's amazing comparing to other similar games in the market) that you enjoy playing again and again. However, there have been some things that have always annoyed me so there I am, asking you if you can't make some changes into the next version.

Firstly, the ilogical unlimited resources. On the one hand the game tries to be very realistic on the second hand - it gives you unlimited resources once you find them, this is funny . Fair enough - deers can be unlimited as they proliferate but what about the oil??? Not talking about the fact, that if you loose the oil, you logically shouldn't be able to move your oil-based units

Secondly, end of the game. When the game is finishing, and one civilization clearly builds the rocket-ship, the other PC civilizations just sit and wait for the end. How pathetic.. especially at the end of the game it's so frustrating. I alwyas do what I can, use everything I have in order to attact the winning civ. but noone helps me. Isn't there a mod that reprogrammes AI at the end? Example they could gain -5 points against a civ that builds the ship, or has 2 cities with legendary culture.

Thirdly, modern units. Robotic infantry is the most advanced technology? Please. I understand that it has to stop somewhere, but some secreat technologies of USA are TODAY much more advanced than robotic infantry (please if you don't want to believe me, don't have to. No force), so I really would welcome something like - triangle ultrasonig airship or so on. Additionaly, I think that nuclear weapons should be extended - what about stronger bomb that affects 4x4 squares?

Finally, some unfair rules related to diplomacy. It's annoying when some civilization still comes and askes for joining the war. You refuse, you get minus 1 point. But, has every any PC civ. asked another PC civ. for help and got minus point? No. The same with asking for new technology and so on. I wouldn't mind it, if PC would ask for it as well among each other. Moreover, I think it's unrealistic that some minus points stay forever. Like "you declared war to my friend!!!" you get this and have it till the end of game. Why cannot it dissapear after 50 turns?

I would welcome these changes into the next version.

While it is true that AI lacks intrest in balance of power, Nobody attacked USA when they were finishing apollo program

Oh and robotic infantry does not mean mechanized infantry, but more like cyborg super soldiers (for us super soldiers, but at that time they would be just considered as frontline infantry)

Oh and no I dont believe that USA has army of robocops in her lair waiting to be unleashed.

I agree with David regarding the future tech. Robotic Soldiers isn't a realistic possibility, similar to "Mech's" (Upright walking tanks). Watch a few episodes of Future Weapons Tech and you will see what David is talking about regarding advancements being made today that are the future of weapons. This includes laser "cannons" (not really but it can be described like that) that fire highly concentrated lasers capable of destroying missiles and disabling vehicles, further advancement could include absolute precise destruction of objects as large as buildings. Anyone ever see Real Genius?

Other advancements include EMP defense and offensive capabilities. Plasma is being utilized in other weapons technology. Also there are advancements being made in Sonic and Light wave technology that can impair enemy troops forcing them to drop their weapons before they even know they're under attack.

As far as Robocop goes that's kind of already happening today, we have great advancements in medical technology that we're able to replace limbs with titanium alloys that are even better. We have devices that help the senses, heart, lungs and other vital organs. Bones can be supported, repaired and protected using today's medical technology. We're capable if introducing smart technology too.

While we are making advancements in animatronics I think the AI is the most important advancement. I think it's probably too dangerous to actually send intelligent robotic soldiers into war.
