View Full Version : Those Stupid Moments
Gamemaster77 May 13, 2009, 11:16 PM Tell all those stupid/embarising moments.
My friend called me an idiot in class so I yelled out "<blank> called me an idiot". Then I turn around to look at him and knock my cell phone off the desk.

Doesn't sound that stupid, unless you broke the phone.
In primary school once, I was sitting on an old steel fence we had at the school at that time. Bell rings for the start of school, I jump off the rail and riiiip. There goes the arse out of my pants.
Oh, did I mention that this day was some sort of special picnic day, and the entire school would spend the remaining 6 hours together on the oval doing stuff like giving presentations, playing games, etc? And that I won some sort of award, and had to walk, from the back of the oval, where I was sitting, all the way to the front, past everyone, to stand up on a podium and receive it? Well, I did.
This is one of those good/bad stories though. The bad news, is that I ripped my pants. The good news, is that I was so awesome, even as a child that I successfully hid this fact from everyone except the friends who had been there when I ripped them, for the entire day. I still have no idea to this day how I pulled that off.

I didn't but the battery came out.
warpus May 14, 2009, 10:26 PM I couldn't remember what month it was, one time I agreed to complete a survey. I was up all nigh studying for an exam - and was sitting in the student lounge area of the "campus centre" at my university.. some cute girl walked up to me and asked if i would participate in a 2 minute long survey.. sure, why not, i could use a break.
so i was filling out the form, and i got to the "date", and my mind was blank. it was weird - nothing like that had ever happened to me before - but i was so far in "combinatorics land" that i could seriously not remember the date. All I could remember was the year. So I asked her what day it was, and she gave me a number.. "yeah.. but what month is it?". She gave me one of the weirdest looks I ever got, and told me the month.
Yeah, I couldn't remember what month it was that day, but I sure as hell aced that exam (from what I remember, anyway)

Oh, I've forgotten worse than the month, or even year. I once had to look at my own name-tag at work to remember my name.

I've had to do that more than once.

Obviously this happens all the time after a couple lines (or shots, or whatever), but when it happens when you're sober, it becomes newsworthy and far more amusing.

I don't drink or take drugs, and wasn't tired at the time. Make of it what you will.

Ziggy Stardust May 20, 2009, 09:56 AM I'm a disaster wrt remembering names.
Waking up next to a girl, and having to call a mate to ask him her name. I completely forgot.
At a bar, talking to a very pretty girl. Got her phone number, but I didn't have a pen or paper. Thought I'd show off a little and said: I'll remember the number, no problem. I had quite a few drinks, so she said: suuuuure, that's the last I'll hear from you. Later that week, still remembering the number, I decide to call her up. She lived with a couple of other students in some apartment. So, phone rings, some guy picks up the phone and I go: "Hey, can I talk to ..., to ...." and hung up, because I totally forgot the girl's name.
