View Full Version : Turn Chat Thread Placement
Octavian X Sep 17, 2002, 08:02 PM I was reviewing the Code of Standards after disorganizer brought up his complaints about the posting of turn chat threads.
And now, the not-so-juicy details...
CoS section A says that the turn threads should be placed in the main thread. However, CoS section B states that turn chat threads ought to be placed in government sub-fourm.
Which do we keep it?
And no, this isn't an approitiate time to flame the judiciary for missing this.
Cyc Sep 17, 2002, 08:25 PM I liked them in the Government forum when we had them there, but I think they are placed more appropriately in the Main forum. They are easier to get to, there (one less click).
Chieftess Sep 17, 2002, 08:42 PM Then Shaitan reorganized everything. ;)
Great Iguanaman Sep 17, 2002, 08:44 PM I think they should go in the Main forum becuase they apply to all, and not everyone goes regularly to the government forum.

Octavian X Sep 17, 2002, 08:50 PM My opinion is that they are easier to find in the main thread. This may also be an approiate time to add something to the CoS section B about the chat thread index.
donsig Sep 18, 2002, 12:52 AM Main is good. :)
Eklektikos Sep 18, 2002, 04:43 AM When I saw the title of this thread I was hoping to find another nice map with possible placements marked on it... oh the disappointment! ;)
Meanwhile, back in the real world, I think that it's best placed in the main forum :)
Shaitan Sep 18, 2002, 05:51 AM Main thread, definitely.
eyrei Sep 18, 2002, 06:15 AM Regardless of which forum it is in, why don't we do like the CIV2 demogame does and have the current turn chat thread stickied until after the turn chat...
Speaking of which, both games are in the exact same year!
Chieftess Sep 18, 2002, 08:07 AM Yeah, the main forum has to be used for something. ;)
Like everyone else says, stickied in the main forum.
Octavian X Sep 21, 2002, 10:47 PM Well then, we are agreed. Can I get a council member to sponser a change to the CoL?
Shaitan Sep 22, 2002, 06:36 AM That won't be necessary, Octavian. This was an obvious edit error on my part. As you've verified that the original intent still has unopposed support I will simply correct the offending item. I'll do this first thing Monday morning.
Shaitan Sep 23, 2002, 09:16 AM The error in COS-B has been corrected.
