Please someone tell me if they um..suck, ok , or good. I need some feedback. I put a lot of time in them, and wanting to know if there is something that needs adjusted. They can be tweaked.

And they all are in the WoC Lite Download. The WoC Lite download is the latest SVN so has whatever updates are happening now.

They are just.. awesome! :D

As a lurker, I am looking forward to seeing final release of Rapture in the future.

johny smith
Jun 16, 2009, 08:38 AM
Thanks. So they I will continue on the rest. Also want to note I made new sounds sets for all of them.

All lurkers please give me feedback if you have the time. I only know if something is good or bad if people tell me.

I think you should maek some of these to support teamcolor. They look good so far though. I'd make the Egyptian shaman's robes white though. And the Congolese Shaman looks a little strange, his torso might need some texturing.

johny smith
Jun 16, 2009, 10:05 AM
Thanks for the feedback. Yes I agree with you. That symbol should be enough for the Egyptian ones. Congo looks just black for the torso needs some work on it, and I noticed I missed something on one Nordic unit just now. The red area on the belt.

Edit:With team colors I need to think about where if adding on the units. Most of the time only a few civs can make the units because you need to have a certain civilization to be able to select to make the cult. So will look at the team colors after I finish them all of them. 6 sets left to go.

I think that looks better anyway. Probably need some more work on the congo torso. But I am aiming for strange with them.

I think I will put team colors on the sticks when I am done. I am using the alpha channel to hide the heads of the main bodies at this point. So will be the easiest way I think,

Nice work :).

When i look at the slavic prophets...they have the head of ashoka, am i right?
So why are they slavic?

johny smith
Jun 16, 2009, 01:20 PM
Asoka just had a similar head I could work with. A photo I saw of a new slavic recreationist priest had a similar headband. Really just looked the best for it.

I am not trying to stick to leaderheads that match a nationality really. Just wanted something that shows something unique in them that matches.

Thanks. I am working on a Mesopotamian set now.

johny smith
Jun 16, 2009, 06:31 PM
I did some Mesopotamian units now.

I am not perfectly happy with these but I figured I would give a screenshot going to be busy the next few days with real life.

Trying something crazy for Vedic.

I like red one but other two look like having aerobics suits on. Maybe change of color would help.

johny smith
Jun 18, 2009, 08:37 AM
 I could try but I think if I did I would have more aerobics suits just new colors. Well the pics I saw that I worked off of looked like aerobics suits. These guys were yoga masters do not forgot.

I will give it some more work when I get back. I am out of town now. Colors is the one thing that bothered me as well. They do not look so aerobic in game though in my opinion as the screenshot. I may be able to do something else for them. Or adding something else even to the model.

Thanks.

Do you guys think the yellow/goldish colors on the red should be applied to each of others instead of the alternate colors? I think I am going to try that.

Seriously: No idea.
My imagination is a bit weak in this point.

I put on the gold instead of another color. I think they look better. Anyway let me know please.

Jun 22, 2009, 01:52 PM
Thanks. The Cathay units look kinda of plain to me still though. I will give them another look while I do the other East Asian units. Should see some more art while I search around here soon. I need to do Siberian and Shinto next.

I think this is going in the right direction for a Shinto unit. Just wanted to see if anything wrong with the idea.

Will work more on it tomorrow.

Shinto: I don't know anything about it, but the unit looks nice :).
I use a reskinned confucian missionary as shinto missionary, but i would replace it with this unit, if i could get it :D.

Siberian: They look really great :goodjob:.
I hope, you give the FfH2 team a hint, this unit could fit very well for 2 civs in it.

Thanks for the compliments. All of these files are in the WoC Lite Rapture download.

I am about to send these up. I think they are ok.

Teh units look great :).

For the aboriginies: Maybe not so much white points, it looks a bit more like they had an exotic disease.

johny smith
Jun 25, 2009, 01:54 AM
The aborigine spots I am a leaving as is for now. I could I guess give some different face paint maybe to them. I went through and made buttons last night for everyone of the 48 units. They are uploaded in the svn. They look like below for an example.

johny smith

Thanks just happy I could see all 108 on one map. Just looking back and realizing how much work it has been.

For the Aboriginal shamans, you could perhaps change the colours of the body paint rather than the skirt and crown and it's the tradition of many tribes that the wizard of the tribe wears a stick through his nose when in his ceremonial gear. Your Aboriginals seem more modest than most. :p
It's fantastic you're putting so much effort into this! I hope my suggestions aren't unnecessary.:)

johny smith
Jun 30, 2009, 06:50 AM
That is a good idea actually the paint is really the distinctive feature. My one problem I had was finding large images to work on the paint. I see small things but I would really like to give some detailed body paint. I have a lot of things to do though besides them as well. It would help a lot if you have any more detail images of body paint used by them.

I need to send some screenshots up of the buildings I have made. I am just a little embarrassed of my work:blush:. I don't feel I am that great at buildings. Will send them up anyway for feedback on the design.

johny smith
Jun 30, 2009, 07:19 AM
Here are pictures of the pagan temples I did. Pagan religions will only have a temple shared by all of them in the group. Cults all can use the same temple.

There is also a shrine for each cult that I am working on now. I have some done and will send screenshots up later.

Well hope they do not look too stupid anyway.

And many are other's artwork. Just displaying what I have. But I did some work on some of them as well anyway.

1. picture lower left- isn't that used as a palace?

johny smith
Jun 30, 2009, 02:40 PM
Yes that is the palace. It is not a temple I just had the temples in the capital. So what about the buildings theirselves? Yay or nay?

The_J
Jun 30, 2009, 03:30 PM
They look good :goodjob:, no reason to worry about them.

johny smith
Jun 30, 2009, 04:05 PM
thanks I think I need to do some shadows on them though still.

johny smith
Jul 01, 2009, 10:38 AM
I did some shadow work on the buildings. Not perfect shadows but a shadow at least. I also swapped out the upper right temple in the first screenshot with another temple and added an opening to the native temple (tepee).

I prefer older - newer look like they're from some "aliens attack" mod, I think you should make those colored spots much smaller.

johny smith
Jul 07, 2009, 11:47 AM
Thanks for the compliment.:)

It looks as though I may get busy in real life here shortly and others helping are bogged down. I need some help probably with the code and waiting on it as well. If someone wants to lend a hand on it I can always use it. I know the schism needs some work, but my hands are sort of tied on what to do with at this point.

There are WoC changes that are planned that I need to wait on if I want some of features I had in mind, but at the same time there is somethings that could be done now if I knew exactly what to do. If anyone is interested in helping in the SDK or python I need some help if you feel confidant.

I was thinking of adding some new python events for the schisms/denominations if someone is interested or anything else if they are interested I am open to. SDK the same case. Just a lot of people with too much on their platters at the moment. I am happy I got the units done at least at this point. Anyway thanks for the interest and I will work on it as I get the chance.

I hear this mod is dead, which is a shame but I would like to know if anyone has the art (buildings, missionaries, symbols, anything) from this mod. I have agreed to help JustATourist upgrade and update his JARM mod, and I think that this stuff would be extremely invaluable and would get a second life in the JARM update. So if anyone could help me get my hands on all of this (even the latest units etc.) that would be great. So drop me a PM or reply here. Thanks.
