View Full Version : Using new leaderheads
solarplexus Jun 25, 2009, 03:44 PM Hey folks,
I've been trying for the past 3 days to use some new leaderheads, but haven't had any success at all. I'm just writing to see if anyone could help me out?
Thanks.

Also, all questions should go in the main Creation and Customisation forum, as all other fora are for completed items :)

solarplexus Jun 26, 2009, 02:46 PM Thanks very much Quinzy & Vuldacon for the most excellent links! :D Loving these new leaderheads, the folks that made them have much talent!:goodjob:
--This site is great! Sorry about posting in the wrong forum btw.
solarplexus Jun 26, 2009, 04:01 PM Sorry to keep asking dumb questions, but in the Foreign Advisor screen, the new leaderheads are just a yellow circle with a black silhouette. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Vuldacon Jun 27, 2009, 04:05 AM solarplexus... If I understand you correctly, You have to make the Round Leader Images that go in your Advisors Folder. Those are the ones that show the Different Moods. You can open and look at some of the Original Files to see what you need to do.
Grandraem Jun 27, 2009, 06:12 AM It's possible that your Advisor pcx. file is either in the wrong display format, incorrect palette, wrong file type, or incorrectly added in the Pediaicons text file.
Please give us a little more information. If this was a leaderhead you downloaded from here that you're trying to install, then please say which one and I'll check the advisor pcx and make sure it is in the right format. Is it an advisor picture that you created or altered yourself? If so you may have saved it in an incorrect format, or messed up the palette.
We'll be able to help a little more when you can give us a little more info about what you have and have done.:)
solarplexus Jun 27, 2009, 07:38 AM Hi folks,
Thanks for your replies :) It's a Hitler leaderhead that I downloaded by jorde. Here's the link:

--Sorry for being so vague too, lol, I'm not so good with these things
Thanks again for helping me out!
Vuldacon Jun 27, 2009, 04:57 PM solarplexus... Does the Leaderhead work in game? You only posted that you have the Hitler Leaderhead by jorde without posting anything about it... the Only thing I can gather from your Post is that you have the Leaderhead and I am assuming that you are having problems with some area but I do not know what unless you are still referring to the Advisor Screen where you are seeing "a yellow circle with a black silhouette." Did it come with Other Leader Files needed?
If you do not know what you need, you can state what you have and if it works. Post File and folder Names. Please be specific and state questions as clearly as possible that you want someone to answer.
Grandraem Jun 28, 2009, 10:20 AM I just fixed the advisor picture, then noticed...
You'll notice in that thread that the problem with the advisor picture was addressed later on, and Plotinus fixed it and corrected it. He put the fixed file here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4908441&postcount=102
However, I see that the Civilopedia files also have an incorrect palette. I'll check the 10 Leaderhead PCXs as well, which I'm betting will have an incorrect palette. If so I'll fix all the PCXs and repost them in that leaderhead's thread.
Grandraem Jun 28, 2009, 10:48 AM In the last post of the Hitler LH thread I posted a full set of fixed PCXs. Just follow your link above and go to the last post.:)
solarplexus Jul 01, 2009, 09:26 AM Thanks so much Grandraem!! Problem solved :D Can't wait to play with all of these new leaderheads!
You're a genius!:king: Thanks again.
Grandraem Jul 01, 2009, 10:50 AM No problem. Glad to help.:) Make sure that you use all the fixed PCXs I posted, not just the advisor one, or you'll have some palette transparency problems when you see the leaderhead pictures at the end of the game, or on the civilopedia pics.
Also, please let me know if there's any palette issues with the flc. files. For my mod I used the first two eras of that leaderhead, and although it was years ago that I added it, I believe that I remember the flc. files having palette problems, at least in one of the eras. You'll know that it has that problem if you see pixels on it (ingame) that are transparent (meaning that they noticeably retain underneath colours). You'll probably know what I mean if you see it. It's rare on LH flcs, but it does happen from time to time. If you do have that problem, please let me know and I'll see about helping get it fixed (I can give you a really easy instruction on how to fix it). If they're ok, then good luck using the LH.:)
