View Full Version : 2009 modern senario and 3.19 BTS update?
jayho Jun 26, 2009, 10:13 PM The GEM is definitely a masterpiece, which gives exactly what we need: Giant earth map + accurate historical alignment + accurate resource distribution + place of interest enlargement and better use of the map... I just can't express how much I appreicate your work.
I am wondering if u would update it to 3.19 BTS? I really hope u would since playing civ without GEM is really a pain. Also, I haven't seen any update about the 2009 modern scenario... any news on it?
Genghis_Kai Jun 27, 2009, 01:08 AM I am actually working on it the last few days :)
BTS 3.19 compatible, running on RevolutionDCM and a modern scenario are things I would hope for if I am going to release another version of GEM.
But as I have mentioned in another thread, I don't have much time with CIV these days. I have a bit of spare time right now doesn't imply that I would have in the near future, so I would suggest you don't put too much hope on me.
Chiyochan Jul 01, 2009, 09:38 AM at least the majority of your mod is in the map itself, so it probably wouldn't be too hard to DIY for anyone who wants it updated to 3.19

You're right. I tried updating it myself, but didn't feel like putting in the effort when I saw what it would take. Maybe I'll give it another try, though.
Jabarto Jul 01, 2009, 08:13 PM Okay, I just spent two hours trying to merge RevDCM and GEM, and now I've hit a wall. When I start either of the two base maps, the revolution otions don't work even though I turned them on. Also, the scenarios, upon loading, yield nothing but a "You have been defeated!!!" screen. Does anyone have any clue what the problem is?

but i also love this mod would be great to have giant earth map on my 3.19 ... even without revDCM ;-)
Jabarto Jul 02, 2009, 11:53 PM Genghis, if I might make a request, could you focus your modding time on making GEM run on RevDCM first and scenario making second? I'd prefer having the mod released and playable before any new scenarios, and you could always release the scenario at a later time if you're so inclined.

True. I might just release the mod without any new scenarios, given that I don't have too much time working on it any more.

That would be awesome Genghis! Just the basic ancient and modern resource maps updated to work with 3.19 would be excellent. :)
Chiyochan Jul 05, 2009, 05:10 AM while modding it into rev is a neat feature, I'm more worried about being able to actualy play the thing,
i think if anything 3.19 should be some kind of priority, many of the other mods i like are all updating to 3.19 and GEMs inability to catch up means i might have to abandon it if i want to keep playing. =(
