I'm just trying to pinpoint early mistakes I can improve on (1440 BC). I would really appreciate some harsh criticism :goodjob:

This is only Warlord level, lol.

My strategy:
I rushed iron working for that pesky jungle in my second city, I have iron and copper. But made no use of them because of my bowmen. Having gold and gems, after getting some important techs I tried to race my way to Code of laws for the state religion. Which seems to be working. I know I messed up making that currently redundent farm in my second city when I could have improved tiles in my capital. But that's the only noticeable mistake I saw, anything else?

I'm planning on attacking Rosevelt for the valuable land.

Screenshot if you don't wanna download, there's not much to see anyway.

Holy crap! Nice starting position. This is terrific land. I'd lay off the bowmen and get more workers and settle like there's no tomorrow. I think the biggest problem for Warlord players is that they don't build enough workers. I think I heard 1.5 workers per city is a good rule of thumb.

As foobarred said, you need far more than 1 worker. Any tile being worked while not being improved (grassland with no cottage, forest/grassland etc) is a small failure unto itself.
Lots more expansion needed, you can get some settlers out (at least 3) and then wipe out Rosevelt with your Swords and Axes. These are pretty much always the two biggest 'mistakes' newer players make and the lack of Workers problem often persists at Monarch so it isn't a huge deal :goodjob:

Why are you working the unimproved coast clams and not working the improved fish by the way!?. Swap a citizen to work the fish right away!
If you find growing into  a problem, then use slavery to turn population into production.

My micro coordination at it's finest.

I started making more workers now actually, the thing is. I have terrible coordination with production order, I'm afraid if I step up a level. I'll get stomped because I didn't build workers/settlers/military/buildings at the right time. I always end up with to much military & to little buildings, or the other way around.

On Warlord and even Noble you may as well leave the city tiles to the governor, just click on the actual city tile on the city screen to restore governor control.

Sisiutil's guide (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=165632) usually helps newer players get used to some of the game. Checking some of the forum games (Nobles Club for Noble difficulty for example) is a good way to see how people get on well in games at higher levels and can help you advance quite fast if you feel like it. Looking at advice other people are getting in their games helps a heap too, a lot of it will probably go over your head for a while but don't be discouraged :p.

Ghpstage has a good plan. Roosy is a soft target and you should get rid of him as soon as possible. You should've prolly planted a city or 2 in his face to deny him the iron and copper resources.

I'd definately keep an eye on what's going on to your SE. You've got 2 religious whackos', Hindu Monty and Buddhist Burger King. If you found Confucianism, it might be wise to hold off on converting to it. No reason to distract them from their hatred of each other by becoming someone they can both hate. You might want to wait until you're done with the Americans and can safely take on whoever comes out on top of their Jihad before you become a full fledged Confucianista.

If it looks like they're stalemated, you might be safe if you badly need the benefits of having a state religion. Just be aware that religion can have a huge effect on diplomacy, especially when zealots like Monty and BK are involved.

I actually ended up playing a ton of Civilization today. It was a lot more fun because I got to do it with my bro+friend. We would just play Pangea with 6 AI and go all out, or sometimes team up.

So much more motivation passing the learning curve of Monarch when you have other people instead of just you+AI, I don't know what I was thinking in that game! Thanks for all the advice, the war academy helped a ton to. I didn't understand the depth behind commerce & culture as much either.
