View Full Version : IDLE Process For Snail or Longer Game Speeds
os79 Jun 29, 2009, 11:05 PM Hello,
As promised, here is the link to IDLE mod (http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=8220705&postcount=3) by Afforess.
He said to credit OnmyojiOmn so consider him/her credited :D.
:goodjob: you two!
It is primarily aimed to people who like to play Snail speed or Eternal speed by AAranda.
Let the long struggle stretch out before you!
DRJ Jun 30, 2009, 12:27 AM Hello,
I am making a request.
Can someone please WoC modularize process of Idle? It is a process similar to Wealth, Research, and Culture. Only difference is that it will turn no or very tiny percentage of hammers into research while waiting for next tech.
I need that because it would be wasteful to build up units if I don't have gold left over and I always prefer to have Research at 70% because any lesser and it would be crazy slower in Snail or Eternal by AAronda.
After someone makes that module, I will be more than happy to use this thread for that and so not wasting Modmod forum :).
Thanks!
I know the prob. Delete the units just as soon as you have built them, that has the same effect, exept that one turn you pay maintance. To avoid this, I think disbanding a unit prior to the turn the new unit is ready would be possible.
Btw, I think converting hammers into food should be possible with agriculture+wheel.

There was nothing really to do. I just had to get rid of the .ini file and change the path for the icon.
For the module to work, install it to "Rise of Mankind/Assets/Modules/Custom Buildings" or the icon will not load.
All the credit should go to OnmyojiOmn (http://forums.civfanatics.com/member.php?u=97290), who made the module in the first place.
cr0ws Jun 30, 2009, 01:26 AM WoW this is strange request, I don't see why anyone would want to burn up their hammers into thin air.:crazyeye:

Sometimes, when you're losing tons of money and have built all of the available buildings in a city (usually your capital), the game forces you to build units, which costs more money, which could hurt you even more. It's really only useful until you can build gold or research, but before than, this module is handy.
os79 Jun 30, 2009, 01:55 AM I updated the first post to include the functional mod.
:goodjob: to :king: Affresso!
betto212 Aug 07, 2009, 01:23 PM what about add a food prodution(convert shields in food) from game start ?

That could cause serouis problem. Especially with the AI. It could artifically inflate your population above what it should be, so you could have a size 30 city where the tiles can only support 24. Then, your people would starve and revolt. The AI would probably just kill itself with that.
betto212 Aug 07, 2009, 02:01 PM Thats True AI sucks sometimes...but if be possible deny produce food when city reach 5 or 6 pop
Another option would be produce gold with a penalty of 50% that is removed when discover currency
os79 Aug 07, 2009, 06:55 PM Well, i had been using this modmod for a long time (fanatic Snail player ). It caused me no problem. Yeah, my hammers go puff but at last I'm saving my gold for future stuff instead of wasting them. Don't worry, if you play it right, you should no longer need idle process a little before classical age come up, namely Trade, Mathematics, and Currency with Code of Laws that give you state religion of Confucianism that give you a lot of gold :D.
betto212 Aug 08, 2009, 08:19 AM I play on snail ,on high dificult levels not be able to build wealth is a death sentence on early game
cheesemijit Aug 08, 2009, 01:00 PM There are trade caravans. i find these perfect into turning hammers to Gold.
