Ok, after the F14 and F/A18 (http://www.eqforge.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32449), now its time for the Falcon - so here is it :)

Download: http://www.civ3.gamigo.de/bebromods/F16Falcon.zip

(ca. 250kb)

Please note that also here is no bomb anim included. You can simply use the bomb anim of the standard Jetfighter unit (JetFighterBomb.flc in Civ3/Art/units/Jet Fighter) for other planes too - copy it into the folder of your new F16 and edit it as bomb anim into the config files. The same goes for the sounds: please use the soundfiles of the Jetfighter from Civ3/Art/units/Jet Fighter.

I have included a config file (.ini), which refers to the sounds and the bomb anim of the standard Civ3 Jetfighter unit. If you plan to use other sounds, or another bomb anim, do not forget to edit those config files accordingly.

Iīll create now a little gif preview ... ;)

Nice !!

Maybe it shouldn't be able to load on carriers. Like the real one only used by Air Force.

BeBro,

Something you can do in the future to improve your ini file is to reference the Jet Fighter sounds in their current location. That way people don't have to copy the sound files to the F-16 folder. Here's what I mean...

Your ini file has

RUN=JetFighterRun.wav.

If you change it to

RUN=..\Jet Fighter\JetFighterRun.wav

it will reference that sound directly out of the Jet Fighter folder. No copying of sound files needed.

PS. Woohoo! 300 posts!

Oh, and by the way, your jets are really cool. I already added the F-16 to my game over the weekend anticipating it's release. Awesome! And like Boulboulgadol said, I'm going to set it up to be land based only.

Thanks for the suggestion, I didnīt know it was possible to add such complete paths to the .ini files - but of course, this is a good solution, Iīll post improved .ini files later this week...;)

Could you do a kreigsmarine tornado
seeing as your so brilliant?
(no sarcasm intended, I love these jets)

Great Unit! And I agree, if you have the time, a Tornado from the Luftwaffe or Kreigsmarine would be very well received. Thanks for the hard work.

I agree!

Your units are top class!

A Luftwaffe jet would be welcome indeed!

And how about a Raptor or future jet?

Anyway...great job, keep it up!

Thanks for the nice comments, thats a good motivation to go on. :)

In the next weeks, Iīm more busy with my studies, so I canīt create units at the same rate, but yes, Iīll definately make other jets too, although I havenīt decided yet which planes exactly. A Tornado is a very good idea. I canīt promise it so far, but it is definately worth a try ... ;)

I was waiting for this. I was looking for another unique unit for the Turks. :goodjob: I will be using it alongside Janissary.

Thanks to Kingpin I was able to rework the config (.ini) files, so when you use a config file from the new attachement you donīt have to copy the sound files anymore...The attachement contains improved ini files for all three planes created by me, the F16 plus the F14 and F/A18 from this thread: http://www.eqforge.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32449

Simply drop the unit anims, and the related .ini file into the folder of your new unit, thatīs all, because the new files refer to the sounds and the bomb anim in the "Civ3/Art/units/Jet Fighter" folder.

If one finds a bug, please report it here, but it should work...

The ini files look good to me. I can't see that there would be any bugs there. They should work perfectly.

Thats from BeBro's sig. You should also be able to find it...on your computer. Since I'm pretty sure you have El Justo's Cold War mod.
