When I was young, I was a fan of the series. Knuckles is my favorite character of the entire series and he still is my favorite. I remembed having Sonic CD and watched either Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or Sonic the Hedgehog. I know I've watch Sonic underground( Manic was favorite Character in the show) Then suddenly I lost interest in series.

Over time I sporadically played Sonic games: Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes which become my favorite Sonic game. Not until recently I had surge of likeness for the series I not sure why or how this happen but I started watching Sonic X and enjoyed it.

Anyway what about you? Have you been fan since the created or you just got/back in it?

Of course =)

In fact I'm part of a Web comic involving such characters and OC's. It's particularly brilliant, but can get quite funny.

Um I started on the original game and then 2. Missed everything until Sonic Adventure and then a little after SA: 2 I made good friend absolutely obsessed with it, and well I guess that's what led to the web comic.

They also have a very wonderful comic book made by Archie Comics; It's at around issue 200.

HECK YES! (If my avatar is any clue)

Being born in '92, I've been with Sonic since the very beginning. I played all the games from Sonic 1 to Sonic 3. After that, I stopped for a few years, even after seeing the demo for Sonic Adventure.

When Adventure 2 came out and my brother got a copy, I became obsessed with it's storyline and above all, the dark and mysterious Shadow. I've been buying the game and drawing the characters 24/7 ever since. Shadow is needless to say, my favorite character. With the likes of Scourge and Sonic as close seconds.

I have a complete collection of comics(1-24 in Archive format), all the way to the present day. This collection was assembled in no less than about 6 months, impressive no? Hundreds of dollars down the drain... but all the doubles/tripples I acquired will prove invaluable once I sell them!

On merchandise, I have pillows with Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles on them. I have 1.5 foot plushes of Sonic, Shadow and Tails. I have a 2.5 Shadow plush, and above all, a 4.5-5 foot Shadow plush. I also have two Shadow wall scrolls, and 7 glass pieces that resemble the Chaos Emeralds.

Typing the words "Sonic" into my iTunes, approximately 287 out of 814 songs return results. I'm sure there's several more not falling under the Sonic term. In fact, my top three most played songs are Perfect Dark Gaia, With Me(Crush 40 Version), and With Me(All Ends version) all Sonic songs! One of my favorite bands is Crush 40, well-known for composing such pieces as Live & Learn, Open Your Heart, What I'm Made Of, and I AM (All of Me).

...Needless to say, I'm a diehard fanboy.

---

I draw the characters regularly on my deviantart account(both in their own style and mine), while I also try to fit them into stories. In fact, several of my Civ 3 Stories and Tales threads have stories centered on Sonic characters as gods(Shadow being the head of the pantheon, naturally).

To demonstrate my fanboyness, I figured I'd post a few pictures of fanart I've done.

First, a version of Shadow(Lancelot) I drew:

http://fc04.deviantart.com/fs41/f/2009/054/2/d/My_version_of_Shadow_Lancelot_by_SonicYaioFan000.p ng

Second, a parody of the Lancelot Returns battle, which is unlocked after defeating the Final Boss in Sonic and the Black Knight, letting you fight a MUCH tougher version of Lancelot:

...And, just to show I've got too much time on my hands...

Ah yes we can never have too many sonic fans. I too am one, and my favorite sonic char is Rouge.

I tried to make a map for Civ3 to simulate the comics political origin...though failed utterly.

Sort of. I've always been a strategy gamer anyway. I've played some of the games, read the comics and webcomics (including Ironman's) but I wouldn't describe myself as a real fan. A few Sonic characters found their way into my DYOS works at some point.

@Taniciusfox those are nice pictures you got there.

Ah I never got a chance to read those Comics. Where is a good website to read or buy them(including Ironman's)

I am mad that they changed his name from Robotnik to Eggman. Robotnik was a badass name.

As for the comics I make

http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=40740

That's the main comic, sorry for the quality of the early comics, we really had no idea what we were doing at the time XD

http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=51567

That's a fan comic made by a supporter and often partner in the comics, I have no part in them at all but

http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=40738

That's the other comic where we pretty much do stupid or funny things when we're bored =P
Again crappy quality in the beginning.

As for buying the actual comic books that Archie makes, I wouldn't know where to buy them online, a few local stores carry them here.

I was a huge fan of Sonic during the Megadrive games, and then again during the Dreamcast days. I've lost interest in the games since then, though I did enjoy Sonic Rush for the DS - it made an attempt at recreating the original fun.

We had Sonic the Comic here in the UK, and it was a brilliant series. It created its own storylines while managing to incorporate the events of the games from Sonic 3 until Sonic Adventure. I've got most of them saved somewhere on my computer now :D

Thank you!

You can find most of the earlier Sonic comics - they're up to issue 40 I believe - in 4-comics a piece Archive volumes. I'd buy them in bulk on Amazon.com, where they run for about 4-5 dollars a volume. In sum, you get 40 comics for about 40 bucks. Which is better than face value; the comics, separately, cost 2+ dollars a piece. FAR MORE if they're original copies of the first issues.

If you want a deeper plotline, however, avoid most of the early issues up to about, 20 or so. That's where stuff gets DEEP(i.e. it's the first arc where Robotnik "dies", and Archie begins to experiment with deeper emotions and, well, killing off characters. ).

Are we friends on dA? (also did you know Tracey Yardley has a one?)

I dunno if you'd wanna be! Most of my art is VERY, VERY strange. It's almost 100% Sonic-related though. My dA name is SonicYaioFan000.

Mhmm, I know he's there! His Werehog pic was EPIC.

EDIT: I forgive you if my art forever shatters your view of the Sonic franchise. Granted, it could be worse. I could be one of those artists that draw them... doing... "stuff."

Here's a helpful bit of info, actually. To find a certain deviant by username, just type in their username, and add .deviantart.com after it. So, to find my page, you'd type in SonicYaioFan000.deviantart.com ! :)

I believe you misheard me. :)

Each Archive contains 4 reprints of the older issues. For instance, Archive 1 contains original comics 1-4, Archie 2 has original comics 5-8, etc. If you can go up to Archive 12 as you say, then you should be able to buy comics 1-48 at a dirt cheap price!

I have Black Knight and Unleashed, yes. :D

Unleashed was pretty good for me, I just wish the Werehog levels weren't so long(no, that isn't a foaming-at-the-mouth Werehog hatred comment). D:

On Black Knight, I loved it for many reasons. I liked how it was quick to get through(unfortunately, it was a bit short). I loved how they recycled many of the themes from SA2, from It Doesn't Matter to Throw It All Away. Since SA2 is my favorite Sonic game, it only makes sense this pleased me. On top of all that, most of the tunes were composed by Jun Senoue, the same guy who did the adventure music. And furthermore, Jun Sunoue teamed up with Johnny Gioeli - this pair is known better as Crush 40! - to compose a whopping 5 songs for the game(Fight the Knight; Through the Fire; With Me(Massive Power Mix); Knight of the Wind; Live Life).

On the content, I also liked how Shadow was a playable character after being absent in Unleashed. SEGA demonstrated market prowess by using the most popular 5 characters - Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Knuckles and Amy - in one game. I hope they can continue to make games with the quality of Black Knight, but with the length of Unleashed(though I suggest leaving platforming to Shadow and such).

My only real complaints about Black Knight are the fact that it's so short, and... same as always, the voice actors from FailKids are still being used. I wish somebody would redub Sonic X so we could finally get rid of these people. x_x

Time to revive the thread! I'll use my post from the Altered Maps thread... a friend and I more or less developed a Command and Conquer-esque Sonic storyline, and here's the story in a nutshell:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h50/Taniciusfox/MobiusCnCStyle.png

It's not 100% complete, but close enough.

After the victory by the forces of the United Federation, Kingdom of Acorn and it's allies over the Eggman Empire in Mobian Alert, the Egg Emperor found himself cornered in his throne room by his archenemy. While Shadow the Hedgehog and other agents had helped Sonic take down the last bastion of the Eggman Empire, it was decided that it was Sonic's right to be the one to take down the fat man himself.

In the ensuing battle, the Egg Dome was completely destroyed thanks to the carnage within. While Julian Ivo Robotnik had been defeated, he refused to surrender. Rather, he fled deeper into his fortress as it fell apart, with his blue nemesis in pursuit. However, the blue hedgehog had decided to toy with his archenemy, following more slowly than he could.

This mistake would prove foolish. Eggman was eventually cornered in a labratory, where he had placed himself in a podlike device. While Sonic assured the good doctor that he would defeat any robot or chase any escape pod, the Doctor replied with his usual evil laughter, stating, "I am escaping, rodent, but to another time and another place, somewhere not even you can follow me!"

The hero was surprised to see Eggman's pod vanish in a flash of light...

---

The Doctor rematerialised several years beforehand, at GUN Headquarters. The day and time he had chosen was the same day that the infamous Shadow the Hedgehog had joined the military organisation, thus providing GUN with huge amounts of information on the Eggman Empire - Shadow having been a former agent of the Doctor. With a single touch, those who would have met with Shadow found themselves erased, and thus a meeting was arranged between the black hedgehog and the mad scientist instead.

The ultimate lifeform retained his usual cool and collected appearance despite the change of events, and the Doctor began to do his work. Unable to erase Shadow as well - having tried and failed, this was reasoned to how Shadow existed 'outside' of time in a sense, and thus was immune to being erased, just like he was immune to roboticisation - the Doctor tried to reason with him.

Dr. Eggman claimed that it was strange that Shadow was planning to throw his lot in with humans, or GUN specifically. It was the humans, via GUN, who had killed everyone who Shadow had ever cared about, and the few who treated him as a person rather than a weapon or tool. An organisation would always stay an organisation, and what was to prevent Shadow from becoming the same cold-blooded murderer that previous GUN agents had?

After a bit of logic, the lifeform was dissuaded from signing up after all. As Eggman vanished, he let out a deep bellow of evil laughter, knowing he was sure to have damaged GUN's war effort...

---

Returning to the exact time and place he had left, Eggman found his base intact. He checked his data screens, and saw that the majority of the Eggman Empire was still stable and under his control, even while parts of it had collapsed as a natural part of the stress of war.

When asking his computer to give him a full update on the status of all provinces, the list showed their "damage" meters, as a measure of how much destruction had been caused by the enemy countries. Eggman asked where the "Eastern provinces" were on the list.

The computer responded that the Eggman Empire signed over the majority of it's eastern territories to Red Claw after humiliation in the Dragon Kingdom by the same group.

Naturally, Eggman asked what "Red Claw" was. He was answered by a large history lesson on how it was an organisation founded several years ago in the barren tundra of the former Siberia. It developed under a powerful leadership with access to the region's natural resources, until it became a regional power that humbled the Eggman Empire.

...What was more shocking was it's leader. Shadow the Hedgehog.

Eggman soon received an incoming message. Upon agreeing to view it, he found it was a video conversation with said hedgehog, dressed in an imperial military robe. The hedgehog chuckled, mentioning how Eggman had done the world a favor by preventing Shadow's joining of GUN. Because of staying rogue, Shadow had realised his full potential and founded a cosmopolitan superpower accepting of all beings, human, Mobian or robotic. Shadow concluded the meeting by saying, "You may have been able to alter the past and change our present, but do you know what the future will hold, Doctor?"

With the conversation ended, Eggman pulled on his moustache, due to a lack of head hair to pull on. His attempts to weaken GUN had succeeded enormously, but at the expense of much of his empire and the formation of a technologically-advanced, well-trained foe on his eastern borders.

The Doctor immediately rushed to draw up plans... hoping he could find some way to turn this to his advantage...

Taniciusfox

It's primarily rooted in the Archie timeline, though their would of course be mixed with the other Sonic timelines such as the games. So characters like Lightning Lynx appear - Lightning himself is one of Shadow's lower-ranked commanders, serving in the Dragon Kingdom - throughout the story, while there are also a lot of references to the games - all the cities from Unleashed are present in one way or another.

I'd be more worried about the Samus vs. Sonic next round since Samus has 80% of the votes in her current match... but anyway...

How the heck Bub and Bob are defeating Sonic beats me...

Call it conspiracy, but I think all the anti-Sonic people are purposely voting Bub and Bob because they oppose Sonic(no different than voting for Presidential candidate B because you hate A), and this will also demoralize all people who have remained loyal to Sonic if he loses. Because somehow, the polls keep fluctuating. Sonic keeps going up to 50.0% with only 20 votes behind, but always keeps losing in some way.

Well maybe there is some huge group of closet Bub and Bob fans. They destroyed Master Chief.

They destroyed Master Chief - and I say this as a non-Halo person - because they cheated.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iI8Aq9OgrVY/SqbfCfUqh7I/AAAAAAAAAAk/hZ2xarXWLDo/s400/voting+software+6.gif

People from the /b/ forum have apparently hijacked the contest, for the sole purpose of trying to draw anger and sorrow from disappointed Halo fans, and soon disappointed Sonic fans. Or, as a member who posted on the Gamespot forums put it, "Nah, We're doing it because it causes massive lulz from fanboys who think this contest is SERIOUS ****ING BUSINESS."

As to your map, what landmass is Adabat on... what is it on a real globe? And where is Station Square located? And is it the above or underground version?

I honestly have no clue where Adabat would be on a real globe... it could be several islands from the Pacific plus parts of Indonesia, or an entirely new landmass created by the Xorda's bomb.

Station Square is above ground, of course. I imagine the jungle the city would be located in has already been drastically cut down over the centuries and a whole new landscape created thanks to humans' advanced technology - they can simulate climates as you might remember - to be a rather habitable place comparable to New York City or any other metropolis.
