And I now officially hate Vista. What a wretched operating system! It has something called Data Execution Prevention that keeps closing FPKPacker. On the Help tab for that garbage it gives advice about how to change the settings, and to list programs that I do not want DEP to block. However, I have listed FPKPacker there, and the stupid thing still closes it! A little help, please?

Essentially all of the issues with modding in Vista can be solved by the simple expedient of installing somewhere outside of the "Program Files" directory. I can't guarantee that it will help with this problem tough.

I tried with all files in a desktop folder, and it still didn't work.

Or you could just set DEP so that it only runs on Windows services. There is a reason that is the default, this is is. The fact that PakBuild doesn't work with DEP is not Microsoft's fault, it's the fault of the people who wrote PakBuild.

Well, the fact is that it worked fine on XP, and I don't think it's fair to fault the developers when they made FPKPacker before Vista even existed. Also, it is set to the default setting of using DEP on Windows essentials only; I have tried both and neither work to stop it.

Might you by any chance know of a similar program that doesn't get blocked by DEP?
