You could seriously start by using one of several pre-existing HoI2 threads, we really don't need more than a couple of threads on it and certainly not one for everyone who is thinking of buying it or every little problem.

Can you actually reach North Africa unless an ally owns the region? The alternate pos WWI scenario had an annoying drawback where Canada couldn't even invade Iceland so there was no hope of attacking the Soviet UK unless Iceland joined your alliance.

I dunno. But I would have thought the game he was playing he's either be allied to the UK or have the option to.

IIRC transport missions have longer range then amphibious assault mission. (Rebase missions can also work as transport and have no range).

You need to get your ships based at a base closer to Spain.

Yes, just rebase in France than do the assault.

Just send your ships to the adjacent ocean region and then manualy unload the troops.

Right... I tried that. It won't let me get past the Canadian Maritimes :shake:

I can go like 3 ocean territories out from the US and then it says I don't have the range.

Perhaps I should have clarified this in the OP :blush: I only have vanilla.

What navalbase are the ships based in?

Select your fleet, hold CTRL & right click on a major naval base then select rebase.
Are you allied with anyone? If so, you can use their bases.
If not, try rebasing at Boston. If after doing that, you still don't have enough range then I'm not sure how you're gonna get over there, maybe take Azores like Superbeaver said.

I haven't played vanilla so I'm unaware of any differences, sorry.
