Ok, I have been trying unsuccessfully to create a ship that the ai will use, to perform a trade mission. So I have looked at some other mods. If I make a unit called something like Trade_goods that was the same as a merchant unit. Would the ai transport these units across the sea on transport ships, to foreign cities for trade missions?

I was also wondering is it possible to capture a unit and receive gold?

1) I guess yes. But no idea, if the AI would build this unit.

yes this is what I am looking for, would the ai use this promotion, can it be used for privateers?? But someone tells me the ai uses merchants, I guess they must but they are'nt in my mod, not sure why.

I guess, the AI will not use it.
Just let a unit start with it, then you don't have to care about it.
