But in all seriousness, I've never heard of this developer before. Anybody know if either of those games (All Aspect Warfare and Angle of Attack) are worth trying?

I don't much care for 3000 AD, but they do tend to release older games for free, so perhaps try one of those as a demo. http://www.3000ad.com/download/

Otherwise, 3000 AD, makes me think of Derk Smart and Battlecruiser.
