Yes, these forums do tend to hide one's age. I was extremely surprised in the first demo game to learn that Civanator was only 12. It is interesting to know the ages and genders our our fellow players but it really doesn't matter much. What counts is what we do and how we do it, not how old we are. :)

I was shocked to find out there was more than one lady in the demo game, or playing Civ at all! I guess I'm a sexist pig. :rolleyes:
I'm also shocked at all the younger people playing. You guys must be on maturity drugs, b/c the 12/13 y/o's from my area just make me wanna slap them everytime I see them. I seriously think parents in this area think the electronics department at Wal-Mart is a nursery. That's a very serious area to me and I hate having to throw a child or two inorder to look at the new PC titles. But I agree w/ Donzig(twice in one day? Has hell froze over?) it's how you play the game and ya'll are good!

Yeah..... and the fun part is not telling people your age until your established in the game, that way they get all surprised :). But anyway, Myartar, let me tell you that any teenager who goes to Wal-Mart should not be considered representative of the age group: if they're shopping there, there's something wrong right off the bat.

Oh man, you must not live in a small town. Wal-Mart is pretty much the ONLY place to shop here, like in many small, midwestern towns. And we're extra special, not only town the 17th town to have a wal-mart, but we have a SUPERCENTER. That's like Marshall Fields or Macy's to us bumpkins. If we wanna shop somewhere else, we've gotta drive the 100miles to Springfield. Because of this, some kids seem to hang out at wal-mart like a mall. It's disturbing when you see these farm kids wearing baggy Wrangler jeans standing in front of the wal-mart bakery trying to pick up every soccer mom that walks by. "Hey ma, wanna take a ride on my... Bike..." At least the younger players here don't seem as screwed up as these kids. But they play civ, so they obviously have thier problems.... :crazyeye:

But sometimes I feel like I'm 40-60 in the Demogame whenever I talk about the Domino wars and such from the begaining of Demogame 1.

24 male... though i may be in my thirties by next month, with time passing as quickly as it seems to be. ;)

@Falcon: Gee general, soon you'll be saying things like "back in my day" and "you young whippersnappers" like my dad and grandfather..... and I have no recollection of these mythical Domino Wars you speak of.....

is it just me or is this seemingly younger than apolyton? i feel comfortable here saying that im 13 years old (male of course) and proud of it too. dont you think that this poll would be better if the options were:

well i thought that octavain was older than what he was but everyone else i knew had been told or guessed (sometimes wrong)

I seem to have underestimated the age of almost EVERYBODY I have had major contact with in this game. With the exception of CT and Shaitan (wouldn't have 3 kids if he was 14, I would hope....) I have thought most people older than they are. Strange.....

I just assume every new member is 14 until I see something to lead me to believe otherwise...:lol:
