Great Poet Curufinwe
There is a place where all should go
a group of people that desire for all to know
All, and they are devoted to
serving me as well as you.
Intellectual they ever are
Knowers of the dust on of the star
Knowledge to them is of more worth
Than ought else, and gain it brings much mirth
So that they rbrt fo trjoivr
When hearing an itelligent voice.
They are matss of of lore
Greatest since the days of yore.
That came in the dawn of days,
when the sun just started to blaze.
None could e'er know more then they
Of how much htey know I can not say
For tis impossible to enumerate
For that is how great
Their knowledge is, and I must say this
Detest them and you'll e'er miss
Their aid and then your might shall wane.
And of course you shall complain
But the FSL shall show you ruth,
and bring to your mind the truth.
And thus they will oft
Try to keep one another aloft.
Fore they know very well
The pain caused by things fell
These they ever try to mend
And make the rule of death bend
They know naught of greed
They desire little more then their need.
Though yes they will oft have a hoard
And may become someday your lord,
Be sure to be kind to they
For what they'll do I can not say
For I know not, But I know they will
Be so great as to make the fountains be still,
And all shall hearken when they speak
The great shall appear to be weak
For these are surely kings of men
Greater then there was then
In the times in the past
May their glory ever last!
Now let us sing to them praise
For many days upon many days
Greatest they shall e'er be
It is so simple to see
That they are truly great, and well
There is the FSL!.

Are goal right now is to get lit as soon as possible. Through were going to have to do some heavy discussions to make that possible....

After that building libries in every city will most likely be are goal.

OK first group debate guys :).

What path of research should we follow?

1) goverment(war)=monarcy
2) goverment(peace)=republic
3) science=lit
4) Military=the wheel/mathematics
5) Culture= lit
6) Domestic=construction
7) Trade=currency (I think currency allows marketplace)

Grandmaster
Oct 01, 2002, 04:10 PM
I'd say go Monarchy, followed by Lit, followed by Wheel/Mathematics.
Monarchy because we are supposedly having a war coming soon with the Aztecs and Monarchy would be helpful, Lit because its our stated goal to get our population literate and because libraries will help our following research (not gonna mention because it'll pacify the pacifists), and the wheel to aid in our Aztec war if necessary.

NEWS:

The Science Leader election first with stuck, donsig, and strider ended in a tie between donsig and strider. This provoked an Run-off election. This election also ended as a tie. Now the goverment in bad need for a science leader as raised the issue of joint leadership.

FSL DISCUSSION

Should this be allowed?

As for the debate, I say Government(war) w/ Monarchy. I believe we need a strong wartime government for the war with the Aztecs. Also, if any help is needed I'd be happy to do something to help out.

I'm looking to get started in the RPG soon, so I can help you out, it depends on what type of math you need, I'm good at basic math, geometry and algebra

Ok.... Right now we are at a slight disadvantage with science research.

Does anyone have any idea's in which we could bring are science up with little influence on anything currently happening? (*cough* Plan A)

Right now everyone is mainly saying "We need to never rely on the AI's for anything." While relying on them for our research. I could care less if we bought all of are techs from the AI's or not. If it's cheaper then let's do it, BUT I would like to have a decent research to use incase something goes wrong (IE: The Domino Wars).

ColStrife
Jan 21, 2003, 07:03 PM
sounds like a good plan. Maybe we could research the techs the ai does not normally go for first then swap? just a thought.

We have already considered that option and we have such a low science rate that it would be useless... We need to build more library's and universities in our cities.

I've gotten use to being at war.... We are always at war with someone it seems. That or planning an attack against someone. We need to stop and build up are infastucture.... Let the other nations war and weaken themselves. It'll just make it easier for us to take them later on.
