Count me in too! I've never played with the Persians so this should be interesting.

Lkysam
Oct 01, 2002, 01:19 PM
Ok we can start with three. The reason thier are no special rules is because i dont know any lol!! If anybody wants to join then come on in. I'll play the first twenty turns then post it and Evincar will be next. Please try and pass it to the next person at most 3 days after you get it. Oh and please post a brief description of your movements and plans during your turn.

Your turn evincar!

Turn 3: Found Persopolis.
Turn 4: Begin research on pottery.
turn 17: Find Babylonians. Buy warrior code for masonry+41 gold.
Turn 20: Finish researching pottery and begin iron working. Get ranked least powerful civ.

Summary: My current plans are to build up archers and attack Babylon. As you can see we are
on a rather small peninsula and are blocked in by the Babylonians. If we wipe them out we
will have room to expand. I sure hope we find iron and coal in the hills surrounding the city
and get Iron works! :) Btw. If we have iron then once we get the tech switch from archers to
Immortals. They are our main weapon. Also research to get libraries quickly so we can pull
ahead.

Okay, Here are my 20 turns. Zarth, you are next!

2950 Pre turn: WTF??? We're only doing one shield per turn!! raised lux by 10%, fired entertainer. Please try to avoid entartainers as much as posibble...they only cripple us :(
Persepolis switched to settler.Research to 90%.

2900 (1):Okay!! Dyes are hooked up. This allows to eliminate the lux tax for the moment
Road to the west, we'll try to found another coastal city ASAP.

2850 (2): Nothing

2800 (3): We keep on exploring...still nothing interesting, this is not being a cool start :(
2750 (4): Lux back to 10%, to avoid rioting. We violate Babs' borders :p
2710 (5): Persepolis finishes settler, starts another one.
2670 (6): The babs also have dies near theur capital. Lots of jungle spotted.
2630 (7): Parsagadae founded, starts warrior.
2590 (8): ZZZ
2550 (9): begin to mine near Parsagadae, to boost its production.
2510 (10): Our worker is sent to build a road to next city. God bless industrious.
2470 (11): There's really a lot of jungle north to Babylonia!!
2430 (12): Parsagadae finishes warrior, starts worker.
2390 (13): Persepolis finishes settler, starts warrior
2350 (14): rien de rien
2310 (15): We get Hammurabi's ultimatum to leave. We act as good guys...for the moment.
2270 (16): Susa is founded. Well, 3 cities is more Okay.
2230 (17): Parsagadae builds another worker.,That city could be fine to cranck out military, maybe even the Colossus???
2190 (18): We spot a Barbarian encampment!! next turn, we'll get 25 gold!
2150 (19): Persepolis starts spearman, after building a warrior. We must think about barracks there. 25 gold from the post :D.
2110 (20): Our palace expands (for whatever that's good for). Another barbarian encampment is spotted near our 2 explorer warriors. Great, I think they won't steal it ;).

TOP PRIORITIES: Expand until we reach Babs borders. Then, we can launch an inmortal assault. Next player will get Iron working, hopefully before Hammurabbi. TRADE IT ONLY IF THEY OFFER A GOOD DEAL. We are only 2 and I know the AI heavily values monopoly. Also, found a city South West Persepolis. You may want to change production to Settler...
Don't be in a hurry to hook up iron. A mass upgrade can be cheaper than building inmortals for 30 shields.

Hey, it's the first time I remember to post the save

Science to 90% to get +1 gold

2. 2030BC
We discover Iron working, start The Wheel. Science back to 100%
Pasargadae finishes warrior, start worker
We lose 1 warrior attacking the barb camp.
The Babs don't seem to have any iron so we trade Iron working for ceremonial burial

3. 1990BC
We continue exploring.

Babs found Nineveh, a few squares North of Susa

4. 1950BC
We mave a warrior into Bab territory

They ask us to leave. We will... for now

5. 1910 BC
worker near pasargadae moves to hill with iron to build a road there

6. 1870 BC
nothin

7. 1830
Pasargadae finishes worker, start barracks

8. 1790BC
Iron connected.
Workers start building mine on the iron hill

9. 1750BC
Persepolis finishes barracks, start immortals.

10. 1725BC
Moving warriors.
Science to 70%, the wheel in 2 turns

http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads2/sgpersia_1725bc.jpg

I didn't get to building the city southwest of Persepolis. The next player may want to build a city there.
I think we want to build our military a bit more before we attack the babs.

Hey is it too late or can I get in on this game?

Lkysam
Oct 07, 2002, 01:54 PM
1. 1700 b.c Begin moving warriors back to captial so I can upgrade.
2. 1675 b.c Discover wheel. Begin horseback riding, will finish in 19 turns.
3. 1650 b.c See barbarian and go to the east to find his camp.
4. 1625 b.c Find out that we need 40 gold to upgrade each warrior. set tax rate up.
little research will be done at the moment. I will catch up in tech by
extorting the Babs.
5. 1600 b.c Immortal is finished in persopolis. Upgrade 2 immortals. Find barbarian camp.
6. 1575 b.c Kill barb camp get 25 gold.
7. 1550 b.c Upgrade another warrior to bring the total up to 4 immortals. Almost enough.
8. 1525 b.c Susa builds barracks and I start them on immortals. Babs asks for 19 gold.
I tell them to go away he gives in.
9. 1500 b.c Persops goes into disorder so I build a spearmen to keep em happy. I move our
Immortals into position, it is time.
10. 1475 b.c Finish spearmen.
11. 1450 b.c Pasargadea finishes rax and I start Immortals. Move Immortals into his territory.
He orders me out and I accidently click ok. Try to renegotiate peace but that fails
so I march into his territory.
12. 1425 b.c Nearing Babylon.
13. 1400 b.c Finish another immortal. Capture a settler from a warrior and enter a golden age.
I use an immortal to defeat a spearmen and the immortal is unscathed!Capture barb camp.

14. 1375 b.c Capture the Babs biggest city ,Nineveh, but Babylon poses a cultural menace.
Set science to %70 so we get horseback riding in 6 turns.
15. 1350 b.c Persopolis builds Immportal and begins a temple. I will build collosus after that.
Capture Babylon! I will take 1 of thier 2 cities and sue for peace.
16. 1325 b.c Pasargadea finishes Immortal and I start Pyramids.
17. 1300 b.c I try to get peace but they refuse to give me a city. So I march upon Ur!!
18. 1250 b.c Persopolis finishes temple and Collosus will be done in 19 turns. That should
boost our income. I capture 1 of the last Babylonian cities. I will get thier techs and backstab them!
For peace the give evrything they own. Techs, contacts and I beleive a worker.
19. 1225 b.c Begin researching writing. Will finish in 8 turns. Zulu offer writing for 127 gold and I accept.
20. 1200 b.c Nothing much. Set tax rate up so we can just buy our technology for now.

That rocked!! All of Babylon was destroyed and we lost NOTHING!! Now we can backstab them now or wait till they have more cities.
We are flourishing at the moment. It think I forgot to set the tax rate up so its your choice if you want to buy all our
tech or get it ourselves. I think Colossus in our capital is a good idea. As far as I know nobody
else is trying to build any wonders. If we get Pyramids AND Colossus we should be off to a VERY good start. The extra commerce should
boost us into first. I think this is the file. I think it is Evincar's turn right?

Evincar
Oct 07, 2002, 02:06 PM
Mmmm did you make peace with them? Usually in SG it is pefered to leave that choice to the next player, because the 20 next turns are not yours...anyway, if they gave all techs, it is OK.

Not going to backstab, I like keeping a good reputation.

Zeekltk has asked to join...if you usually play regent or monarch, it is OK for me.

Lkysam
Oct 08, 2002, 07:04 AM
Sorry I made peace, I didnt know it was rude. This is my first monarch game. Zeek can join but no more after him. He can pop in after Zarth. But I really didnt know what to do with the babs because if I killed them we get no techs.

Evincar
Oct 11, 2002, 10:05 AM
1200 BC (0): Mmmm. We need to expand more. The war has been great and after seeing it, making peace was OK IMO.
Still, try not to do sign peace in your last 1-2 turns. Persepolis switches to settler. I also like Ancient Wonders,
but we need more cities. Same with Parsagadae, that builds a Temple.

1175 BC (1): Persepolis starts Granary. Looking back it would have been a great idea to build it earlier, but everything is so easy when looking back.
Parsagadae will do an spearman. My idea is to have a good science city there.
We spot a barbarian post. Thanks Heaven, we need gold!! Our slaves will build quite a lot of things for us, I plan to have them join cities later. Our growth is pretty slow and that could help.
1150 (2): Sent an inmortal to explore NE. We take 25 gold.
1125 (3): Arbela is founded, starts Granary althoug I'll probably switch to Harbor.
1100 (4): Parsagadae finishes spear, starts Colossus.
1075 (5): Susa finishes inmortals, starts temple. I'm going to switch gears to building, since we have none to fight with.
1050 (6): Slave joins Nineveh. Any help in growth is welcome, later, we can build our own industrious workers, but right now I'm despaired with our slow growth.
1025 (7): Another slave joins Babylon, that switches to settler. A road is built to the west, where we are going to plant cities.
1000 (8): More barbarians spotted. Wish they just begin to appear everywhere...
975 (9): Persepolis finished its granary, starts a needed worker to conect Arbela.
950 (10): Zulu finishes Oracle, starts Pyramids. Excellent news they are focusing on those wonders, I think.
I find their borders BTW, and renegotiated peace with them for 60 gold :)
925 (11): Kyoto completes Colossus :( Parsagadae has to switch to Pyramids (Although 38 turns seems way too much!) and Persepolis starts settler.
900 (12): Antioch founded, starts Galley. Well, at least I have almost sealed the past to the South.
AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! Inmortal lost to defending barbarian
875 (13) Our civ GA ends which is a real pain. We are in trouble in what it takes to expansion and Luxuries. Also, we must thing about Republic ASAP.
850 (14) Nothing
825 (15): Shaka establishes an embassy in our capital. Hell, I wish I had started in Zimbawe  Game, river and 5 bonus grasslands...
800 (16): Nothing.
775 (17): Settler send to build another city...
750 (18): Well, a second inmortal did kill the daemonic horsemen, gold used to balance our cash.
730 (19): Not much happenned. Babylon has a settler timed with city growth.
710 (20): Nineveh finishes Granary (HORRAY!!) and switched to settler. Another one is East to Nineveh, next one can move it to plant the city if he wants to do so.

Just 3 words.

EXPAND, EXPAND, EXPAND..until corruption becomes rampant. Don't be afraid of some overlapping, our cities are not going to be big anyway
I guess Republic will be the best Government here. We are still far more powerful than Zulu, but we need some infraestructure when it becomes available.
Once we get Literature, some nice Libraries will raise our culture and research.

Hope we can meet the rest of the United Team ASAP...

EDIT: Aaaaaaaaaaaarg!! what's wrong here!! I just realized temples are only 30 shields? Are we religious instead of scientist?? maybe you modded the game.

Lkysam
Oct 16, 2002, 07:35 AM
Turn 1 310 b.c: Move galley up to the north.Move immortals
into chocke points to keep zulu from expanding.I make an entertainer in
Nineveh because a settler finishes next turn. Get 50 gold
from a village.

turn 2 290 b.c: Bactra finishes worker and begins another.Galley
continues to go north (both of them) Persepolis finishes a spearmen and
begins an immortal.

turn 3 280 b.c: Susa finishes settler and begins spearmen.
Immortals are gaurding all of our cities and I want to free some up in case of war.
Nineveh finishes sttler and begins temple ( you are right, the temple is cheap. I
wonder if it is modded. Oh well. I dont know how to fix it now that it has already been
saved. I guess we just play on.) Antioch finishes sttlers and starts spearmen.
I trade world maps with the ZUlu and see the 2 remaining cities. I send my immortals.

Ooops. I am now in 250 b.c I guess I forgot to make a new date for the other turns.
Oh well.

turn 5 250 b.c:Tyre builds worker. Babylon sends 2 bowmen at my immortals so I try to draw them out onto the
plains and dessert. Get code of laws and trade it to Shaka for mathematics+25 gold.

turn 6 210 b.c: Retreat immortals back from mountains so I can ambush the bowmen.

turn 7 190 b.c: The bowmen follow my immortals obediently. Not much else.

turn 8 170 b.c: Persepolis builds immortal. The bowmen deviate from the course I had hoped
they would take but my plan should still work. Found Sardis.

turn 9 150 b.c: Nada.

turn 10 130 b.c: Finish light house. I would rather it have been collosus, oh well.

turn 11 110 b.c: Found Samaria. Kill 2 bowmen and get an elite immortal.
I would make peace but Babylon has FURS. Oh yeah.

turn 12 90 b.c: Nothing much.

turn 13 70 b.c: Still nothing.

turn 14 50 b.c: Persepolis builds immortal.

turn 15 30 b.c: Continue moving my invasion force of immortals move up to
finish off the Babs. My galley sees that the babs have diamonds too!

turn 16 10 b.c: Tarsus build settler. Unload settler from galley
only to see that the one dark square near the settler contained a barb camp!
Oh well there was only one barb in it so I will probably be able
to get him on the boat again. Arbela builds Immortal.

turn 17 10 a.d: Get literature but Shaka was "insulted" when I offerd it for
construction. He would accept no deal of mine to buy construction.Settler makes it
back to the boat. (oh yeah, I am now researching currency)

turn 18 30 a.d: Beat a bowman with an elite immortal, but barely.

turn 19 50: Persepolis builds immortal.

turn 20 70: Immortals built. Very tired now so you play the rest of the turn.

We started this game with only three players, I think that's not enough to succesfully complete a succession game.
Lkysam is supposed to be playing now, we haven't heard from Evincar in a long time. Unless three or four people want to play this game, it is dead.
