Cimbri Nov 10, 2002, 11:00 AM For the Hittites
The Hittites had some elite infantry called "Teheru". They fought the Egyptians in the battle of Kadesh.

NateDawgNY Aug 25, 2003, 02:09 AM Just an FYI, Israel (known as Caanan, before the Hebrews conquered the land) was never occupied by Egypt.
The Last Conformist Aug 25, 2003, 05:06 AM Certainly Israel/Canaan was under Egyptian control during the New Kingdom.
FWIW, my father's got an old Israeli historical Atlas of the Holy Land, which says that the very name "Canaan" probably originally refered to the Egyptian province, and after the Egyptian withdrawal remained as a general geographic term. No idea what kind of evidence there's for this.

btw why did you dig such an old thread up, just to tell me that?

Israel was in slavery to Egypt, but Canaan was never under Egyptian rule.
The Last Conformist Sep 09, 2003, 02:55 PM Puglover: Every historical altas I've ever seen (that deals with the period) disagrees with you.
Yoda Power Sep 10, 2003, 07:50 AM what TLC said.

What I'd like to now is why you're bringing back a pretty much dead thread.. :hmm:
Yoda Power Jul 20, 2004, 09:12 AM Every1 stop argueing bout how Israel or Caanon isnt in the game... Where Persia is what id like to knowDont bring dead threads back, and obviously this scenario takes place long before Persia existed.
Ssharifi Oct 30, 2004, 05:23 PM ok, ill stop bringing up dead threads, srry!
Umm, you just did it again. 7 day ban for continuing to bump threads. You could have not posted.
