Its weird that I have never realized this and perhaps it is well known to people who are good at diplo but in looking at the diplo glance screen today I noticed that no one has negative diplo for "you traded with our worst enemies" except when its directed at me. Do AIs not get this diplo modifier amongst each other? Maybe this has been discussed before or maybe I am wrong.

If I am right then this would seem to have significant consequences in terms of AIs that would otherwise hate each other being able to get along better, reducing likelihood of wars. Thoughts?

They do get it. They also suffer from trading to worst enemies before they met the civ upset about it. (so we're not alone with the problem ;))

Weird. So its just coincidence that nobody in my current game is suffering from it? Anybody know if they are coded to try to avoid it from occurring?

I have yet to see an AI eat a demerit for trading with me. It would make sense for it to happen, since I became a worst enemy by trading with one, but that's not what seems to happen.

I almost never see this on the trade screen, so either it doesn't happen or it only happens AI-AI under some conditions.

Can anybody post a screen shot of one instance of AIs suffering from this?

I've seen it, I check the glance screen very often. I'd have to dig it out from some of the save games to show it here...

seen it too. But obviosly its quite nothing comparing whats happening AI versus human when I am getting constant demands from my worst enemy to attack my best friend and similar stupidities...

My memory is very hazy about this, but I thought that the trade would have be even or in your favour to cause this. I have tried a number of times to purposely trade with someone (so that they would get the penalty) with no success.
