Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 06:20 AM The Following is the official border proposal poll. There are three choices:
Choice Number One:

Choice Number Two:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads2/Proposal2.jpg
And Choice Number Three:
http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads2/Proposal3.jpg
This is a binding poll which will remain open for three days, or whenever quorum is reached.
Thank You

Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 06:23 AM This is Proposal Number One
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 06:24 AM Proposal Number 2:
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 06:24 AM And Proposal Number 3
Cyc Oct 03, 2002, 07:06 AM Actually, I don't think you can post a binding poll with these three options, as option #3 was posted only 12 hours ago.
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 07:19 AM Just following Zarns instructions...
if youd like proposal 3 removed, talk to him, hell talk to me and ill get shaitan to remove it.
disorganizer Oct 03, 2002, 07:24 AM And also, proposal 3 is a bit strange. It would lead to city states?
Proposal 1 would be the only one complying to our COL binding us to geopgraphically based borders.
#2 and #3 are in no way geo-based :-)
the poll should also differentiate between #1 and #1 with the province of bohemia combined with province #2.
after all, i think this poll is not binding at all as it doesnt comply to the prediscuss-act.
disorganizer Oct 03, 2002, 07:25 AM i nevertheless voted #1 as that is the only one trying to comply to our rules.
Cyc Oct 03, 2002, 07:36 AM @Dis - Ah, but Option #2 does follow geographical boundries. It follows the coast NW from Bavaria to the forests, then cuts SW to the Mountains. It then follows the Mountains SE to the forests and encircles them. We then use the unknown lands as a border to move further SE and then cut NE to the Moutains with the gold. We then follow the coast line back up to Bavaria. We may have discovered what was beyond the unknown area's border, but at the time the map was made, it was a perfect natural border.
And as far as your third little paragraph about #1, you're going to have to draw up a map, post it, and discuss it.
disorganizer Oct 03, 2002, 07:41 AM cyc: well, even with the unknown lands it is obvious the proposal 2 does not follow the geo borders when the land is uncovered.
there is no geo border at point 4 there so why cut the valey in half?
Chieftess Oct 03, 2002, 08:00 AM Abstain - I don't like any of them. ;)
FortyJ Oct 03, 2002, 09:09 AM I too voted Abstain.
It seems a bit premature at this point since we only have three cities and there is still a lot of unexplored territory within a stone's throw of our capital.
If we are to create our provincial borders based on landmarks and natural geographical boundaries, then we should at least explore the surrounding area to determine what those boundaries are. As we "explore" towards Azteca during the next few turn chats, we will undoubtedly reveal more of our surrounding terrain, and will be better equipped to draw up provincial borders that make sense.
disorganizer Oct 03, 2002, 01:15 PM I second fortyJ. We can start defining borders with 5 cities latest and should urgently explore the black areas.
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 03, 2002, 02:13 PM okay. these are just proposals. please add others in the border proposal discussion
Danke Oct 04, 2002, 06:59 AM I am voting abstain. None of these seem particularly logical, based on geography or need. I urge the border planners to come up with a plan that, in general, has bavaria and the northern sea-facing valley as a province, has the broad valley south of the doughnut forest as a second province, and has the area from the eastern isthmus and east (toward america) as another. Just an idea, but that's my thought. Sorry I don't have time to draw a map
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 04, 2002, 09:28 AM well, seeing that the will of the people is abstain, tonight, as i do my homework and pester firaxis, i will be at work on a map that is geographically based, but relies on logic.
FortyJ Oct 05, 2002, 11:29 PM I humbly submit the following border proposal for our first province, Bohemia.
I suggest the following border because:
It is consistent with the natural geographical boundaries.
It provides enough room for 8 to 10 cities (not too small and not too large for a governor to manage).

FortyJ Oct 05, 2002, 11:33 PM Here's the map...
Cyc Oct 06, 2002, 01:38 AM Man, I like FortyJ's map for Bohemia. It entails all the points we've discussed for our borders, including the even distribution of the corruption/waste zone. 2 more provincial boundries could easily be split off of that. Good work.
Zarn Oct 06, 2002, 08:00 AM Since I abandoned the one city capital province idea, I will have to agree with fortyJ and Cyc.
Stuck_as_a_Mac Oct 06, 2002, 09:07 AM Same. At first, i assumed public opinion was with small provinces. But then a little birdie reminded me of Ameri, and I too support the FortyJ Idea.
donsig Oct 07, 2002, 03:28 PM Just saw this poll and it's closed already! Didn't reach quorum, did it? What's the status of our borders?
Cyc Oct 07, 2002, 05:01 PM This poll was invalid from the point of posting. I am reasonbly sure all cities are still in Bohemia.
donsig Oct 07, 2002, 05:32 PM I never thought Valhalla and Morgana were in Bohemia...
Octavian X Oct 07, 2002, 10:25 PM New discussion, and an approitiate poll, would be appreciated. It appears that no one really liked any of the proposals. I'm gonna get to work on one later, myself.
Zarn Oct 08, 2002, 01:11 PM How about a poll set up on the 15th? We can't debate on borders until we win or lose the game. We have to set it up soon.
FortyJ Oct 08, 2002, 03:55 PM I agree. Please accept my previous post (with map) as my proposal for the borders of Bohemia.
