I'm having an annoying glitch that blacks out large sections of the minimap on Earth maps. In other words, it makes large (explored) portions of the map appear as if I had never visited them. And this only happens on Earth-based maps. Can anyone offer any advice?

" ... an annoying glitch that blacks out large sections of the minimap on Earth maps. ..."

Me Too! ... both the minimap late in a game and all of the ice at the poles turns black after several dozen turns ... ??

Save and quit and restart cures the black ice for another couple of dozen turns, but not the mini-map problem ...

What to do?

Try lower graphics settings? Have a full and frank discussion with Aspyr Support?

Mmmmm .. good ideas, both.

I bought this new 2GB / 2GHtz iMac specifically 'cause the 1680 x 1050 looked so good ... What is the maximum / best rez for CIV4 /Mac ??

I just backed off on the "ail zing" to #2 (from #0) ... maybe ... Nope! = messes with the mouse (Macally wheel control) & the mini-map looks like a teeny, tiny checkerboard :crazyeye: ... = returning to "default = 0"

Now backing off on "rendering" to "medium" ... and it DOES speed up the play & controls (zoom I/O & refresh) ... :p

I'll try that for a while.

Anti-aliasing is the number one culprit for graphics glitches. I doubt if the problem is to do with performance on a new iMac.
