I have searched the forum head to toe and tested mods only to find that there aren't any 34 or w.e it is now civ earth maps, thus leaving me to the sub par earth18 that comes with the map. has anyone found any that work?

If you are looking for more than 18 civs, then forget it. You have to run a custom DLL to exceed 18 civs on a map, and the Mac version doesn't do custom DLLs.
