Hello, this is my first post here and I must say that this site is great and it has really improved my enjoyment of the game. Now for my problem:

I`m having a problem with the HoF mod for BtS. All functions works just fine for normal games (play now) except that itīs not valid for Hall of fame submission. However I wanted to try the older gotm games just for the fun of it but when I load the savefile and the game restarts I get the message "not a valid mod directory" and Iīm unable to play the gotm. Have anyone else experienced this kind of problem and know the solution for it?

edit: my lag made this a double post and I canīt find a way to delete it. not the best start at the forums

Unfortunately, older GOTM games use the older mod, so it is not backwards compatible.

Furthermore, HOF Submissions are based on Custom Game, not Play Now!

The exception might be that you need to enter the custom game screen first, and then tick the "Lock Modified Assets" box. From then on, your play now! games might have that box checked (in the background) making it all valid for submission.

On a side note, because I find this might be a question, GOTM games are submitted under a different submission area on the website.

http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php is the place you should be getting extra mod information from and if its too tech-heavy, there is a general HOF questions thread that you can post to and the smart ones can help you there.

As Hsinchu mentions, the HOF mod is not backwards compatible. If you have 3.19 patch for BtS installed you'll be stuck with only current GOTM games being able to be opened.

I`m having a problem with the HoF mod for BtS. All functions works just fine for normal games (play now) except that itīs not valid for Hall of fame submission.

If you are using Vista try the fixes here (http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php?show=vista), that should stop the not valid for HOF submission messages.

And I haven't heard mention of matlab for a few years now :mischief:
