View Full Version : Added Civs - Hall of Fame (?)

Using the Civ3 Multi Tool I copied the Aztecs, renamed them the
Incas and changed their colour to light orange. To test the
addition of the new civilization, I started a game using the
otherwise unaltered BIC. I played a few turns and retired -
checking to see what happens when the Hall of Fame gets a new
civ in it... well... I got the infamous civ.exe error and the HoF
would not load.

How do I make it so that added civilizations will appear in the
Hall of Fame when I use them?

Thank you for your time.

...this just feels like
spinning plates...

I've posted a similar thread in about 3 different places in the last month. Never really got a good response on this problem (or much in the way of acknowledgement that anyone else was suffering from same problem). Only difference in my case is that I didn't use the Multitool to add a civ.

Can anyone positively say that the new custom civs that they have added have appeared successfully in the Hall of Fame when you retire or win a game? Can anyone even get the Hall of Fame to work at all after retiring or winning a game after they have just played as a newly added custom civ?

Yeah guys, c'mon. I mean, surely someone else has run across
this problem aside from the two of us.

As for me I also could not access the Hall of Fame after having
won or retired with a new civ.

It seems to me then adding civs is a useless feature if there's
no record of the win. For what purpose to we play if it isn't to
increase our own abilities at the game. Furthermore, how are we
to witness our evolution in the Civ experience if there's no table
showing our scores?

As is, the only way to play would be to not use the
Civilizations we add to the game,... why then would we add
them?

Someone...? Anyone?
I'm positive that we aren't the only two people, so how have the
rest of you dealt with this problem?

I have the same problem; haven't found a solution either.
