First work on the aifons done :

History:
As you know all the Aifons were wiped out of the surface of Erebus.( that is lore , after it is only my version). But the ones who were only half-Aifon weren't allowed on the island of their fathers, and didn't disappear with the others. some of them felt something at the very moment of the extinction of the Aifons, others were banned from their homes after the rumor of malediction has spread. Eventually, dozens of half-Aifons garthered at the island and hid during the age of ice.

Leaders :
Tethys Majosi : Daugther of the greatest hero of the Aifons and of a noble woman from Patria. She was ambassador of the Aifons at Patria before the disappearance of the Aifons, and became Queen of the Half-Aifons and Head of the cult of Danalin at the same time, after that. Her main concern is the way overlords are taunting the Seas. She is Good, anti-Overlords, at the moment her Traits are Spiritual and Organized.

Arkantos Thalati : refugiee of the Half-Aifons who saw all his family killed by humans scared by the curse. he becomes in the age of rebirth one of the main generals of the Half-Aifons by showing much ability to lead his men and make them do their best. When people talk about him, they say he is a bright and friendly man. Yet , he seek of revenge makes him unlikely to befriend anyone not from his people, unless it brings forth the destruction of mankind. He is neutral ( really near the evil for broader alignments) and may fall to the overlords.
Traits are Aggressive and Warlord : +50% GG birth +1 movement +1 Attack for minions
NB : His seek of revenge makes him have real diplo malus against all civ ( -8 at least probably)

Units :
-all living units gain the Aifon race that enables them to walk on water, and to dive (hidden promo)
As a Consequence, Aifons have no ships. For the Naval Line, which will be also part of the Mounted line, they will have giant Tortoise, Sea Serpents, Sea Horses and maybe one or two other things

-Aifons will have a unique line of disciple units : the priestess of the waves ( and great priestess of the waves as an upgrade). The player will be able to build them if he is not OO or AV ( might prevent from being built them when following a state religion, if i find it overpowered.)
they will have the classic functions of a priest ( Medicine , ability to build the unique pagan temple of the aifon) and will have 2 spells , one for the basic unit , the other for the upgraded one :

-Purify : acts as a sanctify for water tiles, and has a chance to make barbarian sea living units to convert to the aifons civ
-Oceanic spreading ( need a better name) can terraform a land tile to a coast one .
(will probably add a counter terraform spell to druids or other priests)

their adepts will also have unique water spells :

Water I : Water Shield : gives a promotion which protect from fire damage and make damages to units that are attacking with that kind of damages, 10% chance to disappear each turn

Water II : Currents : push the targeted stack one tile away and may harm them (can be used on allied, neutral or ennemy units , declare war when casted on neutral units, can be resisted)
: Sea Song :random summon of a seacreature. ( didn't know if i'll make it a permanent summon attached to the caster or a temporary one) the summon might be a barbarian unit.

Water III : Wrath of The Ocean :
Deals ~30% Cold damage up to a max of ~60%
40% chance of washing a unit away(moved them 1 tile away from caster)

Mechanics and stuffs : Sea cities .
workers can build sea farms and a new improvement called reefs, which is a mix between a mine and a fort, that may harm ships that enter in it.
Unique pagan temple, that spreads a new feature on water tiles , Mist, which decrease movement and visibility.

others civs gain a new ship ,the Harpooner, that gives bonus against living sea units.
it is less powreful than a gallion, i will probably make a frigate-like upgrade.

also added coral, which will be for aifon what iron is for the others civ. it gives the coral weapon promo , the same as iron at the moment.

spawning of sea monsters will be modified . it will be nerfed in aifon zones , increases in black water zones, and other little things i think about

credits :
stoik for finding the themes
LemonJelly for some building Graphics

most of it is already in , i need to work on the ai to make it usable, and i need to find art for the units.

Nice :)

Any plans/ideas about their melee units? You might want to compare them to the Bezeri Valkrionn's working on to make them different enough :)

Will look at this soon. Does it include a modified DLL? If so, you'll want the source files I post on Monday, should be essentially complete for the next patch, DLL-wise.

Just posted the changed DLL files in the first post of the Download thread, at the bottom. Still need the FF files as well, but this will let you build the new DLL.

This is so weird. I was just thinking to myself how neat it would be to play the Aifons. I'll be up for playtesting if you need help with that.

A few comments:

Oceanic spreading - Hydroforming? This has some serious abuse potential. I assume this can only be used within their cultural borders. Nonetheless, imagine leaving a border around your lands of land->water->land which will basically keep everyone and everything (except waterwalking mages and OO units) out of your lands.

The Harpooner - Perhaps you don't need a new unit, but rather a new promotion for naval units called Harpoons which gives them +40% vs. living units while at sea. Of course, this leads to the possibility of a new Lanun minor leader who grants this to all his ships ...

Resources - Can the Aifons build cities on land? If not it will be extremely difficult to get most of the resources in the game. They will be at a serious disadvantage for happiness and health (they also won't ever have fresh water.) Some of the endgame units require these resources, so Aifons will find it difficult to get Archmages, High Priests, Paladins, Eidelons not to mention the whole mounted line.

sorry for the error ^^

concerning the terraforming, i'll have some tests to see if it is really overpowered and 'ill nerf it ( already need 8 turns to cast )

I think Valkrionn said AI was sucking with naval promotions , ( that could be one of the cause of the issue of naval AI) so i'll stuck with the new unit until someone has a better idea ^^

concerning the ressources , there will be some new ressources to make them less earth dependant. At the moment they cannot settle at land , but can keep coastal cities they conquer, ( may change that though)

Terraforming to coast wouldn't be too bad if it was slow, reversible, and gradual. Maybe have the changes revert if a unit isn't actively maintaining it?

Do you plan on giving them a unique tech so they're the only ones to see their sea-resources?

Also, I'm thinking that a Flooding project for coastal cities would be in order, changing the first square of tiles in coast and having a chance to turn the second too.

As for other terraforming, maybe requiring to be inside borders?

this is better than units terraforming the land IMHO.

I like the flooding project idea. And yeah, the more I think about it, aquaforming really would have to be within borders or it would be devastating if used offensively.

But you wound need to want to flood your coastal cities? I assume you'd lose pigs and corn and gold and stuff like that if you sink the tiles. Maybe improvements decay and disappear in Aifon lands since the Aifons don't know how to use or maintain them. That way the Aifons can't really use land based resources and would have to trade for them.

Ooh ... sinking tiles might have different effects depending on if it's flat, hill or peak.

All this brings up the question: Is it thematic for the Aifons to want to sink cities? I don't know that much about them apart from the water. Do they like it so much they are willing to sink captured cities and cover the land in water? I mean, it sounds like Arkantos Thalati might not have any problem with it. But it really does sound like kind of an evil thing to do.

Sure. But, I didn't make the models, I just recoloured the skins.
I posted some more a while ago in the base FFH forum. A lot of the same style stuff, most with buttons

I have no idea. There wasn't any information with it...

But, you could try tiger or wolf, looks like the model is based on one of them xD
