Reading Requirements:
Must have contact with All remaining Civs.
Must be able to research an Industrial Age Technology.
Posting restrictions
No maps showing Industrial or Modern resources.
No discussion of Industrial Age (or later).
Absolutely NO Discussion of any other active 'X'OTM contest!
Your UU comes late in the Middle Ages, but with 5 Deity AI, you might need it to get a leg up. How did the Middle Ages go for you, and did your Cossacks play a big part in your plans?

Come to IA at 650 AD in a good shape: Russian + Viking land. It is possible to capture England within the rest of the time, but most probably it will not be enough to win. All Sci got Nationalism as free Tech. Cossacks are good for landing but really need to be massive to enter native land of AI

i can only second ILarkin... in my game it required loads of cossacks for each successful invasion!
my middle ages:
research on Rep finished in 230bc as a monopoly, revolt on interturn for 7 turns anarchy, new roll gives only 3 turns :)
there was not a single tech researched by any AI in 10+ turns until that, but the next turn Rep and Mon get around on the same turn, killing all the value of my monopoly. go figure! :mad:
become Rep in 170bc.
70ad Mono @ 2nd gets me some gold, some gpt, all available map info and Mon, but after the IBT suddenly Eng is available as well :argh:
230ad Germans land troops, i ask remove or declare – it´s war. i have no clue why the trade route with the Vikes and my rep is not broken, but i am happy about it anyway. is it enough THEY are at peace with Germany? anyway, i sign Ottos in as my poor military state won´t even allow to clear out more landings.
i start a good buildup from here, cities finally become quite productive. go for aggressive growth. in 290ad i get a monopoly on Education that makes me quite wealthy. in the German war i only fend off landings and take the two German towns on my continent, replacing them with tundra towns mainly for support. try for a leader but don´t get one. build a channel city and prepare for Copernicus´. sure enough the AI researches Chivalry before GP. however, not too bad they are going this way.
Astro was important because it opened up trade possibilities not only with the Vikes.
economy is better now than going to war, so i "attack" the last remaining foreign (Yankee) town on my continent with culture. on deity! :lol:
sure enough it won´t work out. getting Cope´s is a trick on deity i did not manage, either.
being my best friend for a long time, “gracious” and on the other side of earth, the Ottoman attacks me. this breaks a deal where he delivered me a lux and about 50gpt!
ok, get everyone in against them and prepare my first real war, but not against them. it starts in 660ad and goes against Germany, with around 40 troops. enough on Deity? well, there´s one attack, and i can take 3 minor cities next turn, founding two on 2nd ring. 3 defenders max. ok, Berlin, i´m coming.
690 MT in, switch production to UU, science off.
GA starts in 720, i rush through German lands, get a leader in 760 with the 14th elite victory. take 1st place in most statistics. rush FP in Berlin. own whole German continent in 780ad.
810 enter IA, get Medicine. invade Osmania in 820.
