Civ Fuehrer

My cat walked across my keyboard while I was playing civ not too long ago, and to my surprise I found that pressing 'P' in game will let me ping the game. My interest lies with the pinging graphics, a blue wave that's fairly large and is a perfect explosion graphic for my YAM nuke. I've looked through the Pak folders but found nothing. Anyone have any idea where this graphic may be?
EDIT: nvm i found it

You can find it here:
Civ4\Art Files\art\interface\effects
The file is called, "empblast," and the effect is called, "EFFECT_PING."
It's pretty cool - I remember using it for a death explosion in a mech walker unit I made a long time ago, but never finished.

 Interesting.
I guess, i'll change the normal nuclear explosion effect to this effect.

Why not using it as a second effect of a nuke? EMP bomb, which disables lots of unprotected electronic devices in the target area...
Like shutting down certain facilities, and/or a chance to shut down the SDI for that turn?

IIRC the nuke explosion effect is defined one time in a xml -> if you don't fire this effect manually with python, then having different effects on nukes is not possible.

well I turned the graphic into an effect with another name for nuking purposes in the XML... time to go play with the python.

Where's the sound file for the ping effect? Replacing that with something amusing might provide some entertainment.
While we're on the subject of pings, is there a way to make them last a little longer? On really huge maps (like planet generator) it can take a while to get to it.
