I have found that I really dislike the modern age representation of the fort (green blob). I am perfectly happy with the industrial age version (brown star). I have tried to replace the green blob with the brown star through simple copy-paste of the relevant graphics file -- though the new file looks good in a graphics program, when I load a game, all mines have been replaced by goodyhuts (despite not messing with these images).

I obviously know nothing about modifying the graphics files :).

I've searched the forum, and can't find a similar modification. Anybody got one? Or anybody able to do it quickly and easily? My undying gratitude for any shared files!

I just copied the industrial fort so it's us for both modern and industrial eras. I tested it in game and it works fine for me.

Here is another that uses Hunter's firebase graphic for the modern fort. Hunter created it as a unit, but it looks pretty good as a modern fortification.

The first .pcx you attached looked exactly as my own attempted modded version -- my version produced the goody huts graphic in place of mines for some reason.

Yours worked perfectly! It's amazing how much more pleasing the eye-candy of the game can be when something that you think of as a "wart" disappears.
