By pure random thing i would like to play "Road to War Global Map 1936"...
I taken De Gaulle, i zoom for see all the globe, and i realized that it was 34 Civs...
And this thing should be from a datalyb or on dll packed in the mod "Road to War"
Here my question : why do not steal the .dll for a standard or huge earth in 1000 AD 100 AD or All Civs Earth 34 ? For Mac ! Do you realized
It functioned, no error to load... After i have not played...
Sorry if it was false hope... :(
See the "Road To War" 1936-Global
I will see deeper how Road to War has more than 18 Civs at once and 34 Civs at once....

Mac Civ4 is hard coded for 18 civs. It will not read an external .DLL, which is the only way to avoid that limit. You may be able to load a scenario with more civs, but they cannot appear in the game. The index number for civs only goes from zero to 18 in the game, and Civ #18 is the barbarians.
I therefore do not understand how you can play a Mac Civ4 game with more that 18 civs on the map.

In fact i have not found that wich could explain that Road to War 1936 Global has 33 Civs, it was not a dream, it loaded perfectly on my Mac version BTS, but i had not played it although...
Perhaps I was too enthusiast...
But if we can have scenarios with more civs and even if normal games couldn't do the same should be very nice :goodjob:
Perhaps a special python/xml call to more civs ?
Sorry, if i was wrong :(
Edit : I was wrong perhaps, but can you give a try to "Road to War - Global 1936 ? Hitler - Hiro-Hito" ?
Perhaps i was wrong ?

Road to War (and Rhye's and Fall) both use a custom .dll that was converted by Aspyr for the Mac BTS release. So yes, RtW may indeed allow for more than 18 civs but will also have a number of other hardcoded changes and will most probably only work in RtW.
EDIT: Just did a quick experiment and trying to play any sort of standard or custom game with RtW loaded crashes BTS. Same with Rhye's and Fall. This doesn't exclude us using these .dll in mods but with no documentation of the changes it would be challenging. The best bet would be to duplicate the RtW installation and modify from there.
EDIT 2: Actually it looks like RtW and Rhye's and Fall both use a custom BINARY, which are kept alongside the standard one, inside the BTS package. This means we cannot use them for any mods other than the ones they're meant for. At best all we could do is tweak RtW itself. Personally, I don't think the massive limitations of this are worth it, just to have more than 18 civs.
