Is there a keyboard command that will switch from full screen to windowed mode while in-game?

Not that I've found. It looks to me like you need to restart the game if you want to minimize, which is pretty annoying.

This is indeed annoying. Also, does the OSX menubar obscure the top part of the screen in windowed mode for everyone else too?

Depends on the window size you choose versus your monitor size, but yes, if you pick a big enough window, the top goes behind the menubar.

I have two screens, and run Civ4 on the secondary screen. No menu bar or dock on that screen.

So I just use a window to fill that screen, and I can still see mail, IM, browser etc. on the primary monitor.

Hi,
How would one access windowed mode in the first place without a keyboard command?
I have been trying loads of stuff but it just won't work!
Sorry if I am about 6 years behind the times!
Please Help!

When you launch Civ4, hold the Command key down. That opens a dialog box where you can choose from multiple screens, select full screen or windowed, and select your resolution.

You can also access it in game via the options menu. Select screen size and windowed mode, but you must restart the game for changes to have effect.
