Hi All,

I would like to say Hi. I am known as the benevolent ruler by the name of Dlanorean.

Has any one ever have this happen and what did you do to corect it?

I have just down loaded the Civ 3 Gold from Drive2Drive. It is the CIV 3 Gold by ATARI. It is loaded on my hard drive so I do not need a disk in the CD Drive.

I am playing the scenario called Double Your Pleasure. The gave runs very well tell I get to the part were you are in the Industrial Ages and I am researching Motorized Transportation.
I get this window saying

"" Load Error...FILE NOT FOUND..."Art\Units\ME262.INI"......The game will now exit.""

Hi Dlanorean, welcome at CFC. [party]:band:

It seems the Extras folder in your civ3PTW download is missing. If that is the case (I donīt have the Civ 3 Gold edition, so I cannot see if this is true) you must add all the missing units manually. I remember there was a link to download all these missing units with one download, but I couldnīt find it with the search program.

With the error message you posted, the program wants to start a unit but is not able to find it. If you have the unit ME262 in your units folder, look inside the folder, if the name of the unit is written as it is needed by the scenario:

a) in the unit folder and
b) in the INI-file

What that error means is that the pediaicons file told the game to look in a file called ME262 for Bjornlo's German Jet (I assume) by that name. The .ini file name must match the name of the folder exactly and doesn't, or went missing when you downloaded the mod (which sometimes happens for no apparent reason). There are a few things you can do:

1. Try to re-download DYP. If the cause was a corrupted file, that may fix it.

2. Check the Unit folder, found in Conquest\Scenarios\DYP\Art\Units\ME262 to see if there is actually an ini file inside that says "ME262.ini" If the ME262 file is missing entirely, you can download it from the database >here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1674)< Now this is important: the folder name and the ini file name must match exactly.

3. Check the Pediaicons file (opens in notebook), and make sure that it's looking for the right file. Look in the units section (entries that begin #ANIME_PRTO_***). I don't know what that unit is called in the DYP game, but the line just below that name would read, simply "ME262", the name of the folder it's looking for. So that entry, the folder name, and the ini file have to match exactly, otherwise the game assumes it isn't there and gives you a load error.

I notice that Bjornlo updated the ME262 and has an alternative ini file styled "me262b.ini". If that's the problem, just rename it, remembering that the folder name and pediaicons entry must match exactly as well.

Hope I haven't just confused you. Good luck.

Edit: Civinator's answer is, as usual, much better than mine, and we were posting simultaneously. Try his fix first.
