This is a poll to know what you think about changing the names of the cities

Well, I voted abstain because although as a Governor, I might respect the name of a foreign city, I might still want to rename it to one more suited to my nationality or my tastes. But I would not be re-naming Paris or New York. These cities, and similar ones have their own identity.

I think they should be Fanatikanized. I'll only repect an enemy that allows my workers to work. The emperor sits jags outside of Valhalla, starring at my precious work force. They deserve no respect.

I'm voting yes, but I'd say keep the Aztec capital as is and possibly change the others. Some should Fanatikanized, but whenever we capture a foreign capital or major city it should retain its identity.

I agree with Grandmaster also.... We should let the capitals keep their names, but re-name all other cities.

hehe.. The 2 Aztec cities I *COULD* spell... Tenochtitlan, and Tlaxcala (changed in the 1st demogame). I voted yes though (even though I can't pronounce half of them!).

Maybe we can get ehecatl to come up with a few custom Aztec names? (*shivers*)

Yes, Ehecatl is mexican, i think. I think we could change so, but we could let some with their original names, the important ones, like tenochtitlan, texcoco, and teotihuacan

I believe just tenochtitlan & texcoco..... No need to waste time typing up aztec names ;)

Hmmm...yes, I am mexican (not aztec though). I realize some (or all) names are dificult to writte, let alone pronounce. So, while I undestand where you guys are coming from....you know what, it's just a game, I was gonna give a whole speech on the importance of bla bla bla but I play with the aztecs and even I change names here and there. Just let Teotihuacan have her name and do with the rest what you will, oh, and make the aztecs city a province later on and we have a deal :)

"Eklektochtitlan" has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

i say keep the names, not out of respect, but out of convenience. after all, if we leave them then you will be able to instantly identitfy their province when you hear the name. that doesnt sound like much now, but it will be really nice when we have 50-60 cities. eh? besides, it gives the cities a special, exotic character. if anyone has trouble pronouncing them, ill be glad to put up a pronounciation guide.

I'd change the names. If I happen to be playing during those turns, I would certainly rename them, especially since I'm due to name the next city:king:
