So all attacker bonuses are applied against the defender EXCEPT combat, right?

My question is: if I have a City Raider 3 promoted unit (+75% really -75% applied to defender) and the defender only has 50% defense modifiers, does the remainder take AWAY from the base strength?

IE:


Flatland archer, no promotions, no cultural defense, no fortify vs. CR3 swordsman
Archer = 3 + 50% innate city - 75% (CR3) = 3 * .75?

Is this right?

cr3 swords have 85%.

If combat worked that way, having a cr3 pinch warrior would reduce to rifleman to 0 strength.
for negative values it's 3/(1+0.35), for positive it's 3*(1+0.35)
