View Full Version : Neat Roman Scenario
soccerrules Oct 12, 2002, 10:53 PM Here is a neat scenario with you in the early modern times and your enemies in the early industrial ages. Everybody has lots of cities at the start.
I'm new at creating scenarios, so advice is welcome!
A new version is availble for download! In it, you are allowed to play as Rome(has a distinct advantage), Persia, Zulu or Greece(with more irrigation than Persia and the Zulus). This is so that you can play with people other than the Romans(sort of easy). Thanks to Stalin006 and LuckyOrDead for sugestions!
Version 0.5 deleted after 13 downloads
soccerrules Oct 13, 2002, 02:01 PM someone PLEASE comment
stalin006 Oct 13, 2002, 05:10 PM well.........u did have a similar idea to the explorers as my scenarios, but i think u over did it :(, u should make some mines and roads to connect all the cities irrigations. also dont start the cities defended by tanks, but infantry. is nice since u are a begginer, if u need more tips ill help u, just PM me.
soccer does rule!!!!!!!!!!
LuckyOrDead Oct 13, 2002, 05:11 PM Why not set your scenario on Earth?:crazyeye:
Why start with so many workers? You already have railroads over most of the land.:crazyeye:
Why put goody huts inside your own territory? They make barbarians.
But, over all I did like it. :D
I will try to play it to the end and tell you more. If you want.:goodjob:

I will start the cities with infantry in the next version(It'l come out soon). I will remove the circle of mountains around the explorers if you think it would be better? I will put in some mines and take away some of the railroad.
Thanks for the sugestions!

I will get you to start with less workers and I will remove the goody huts. As for on earth, it would be like remaking the scenario.
soccerrules Oct 13, 2002, 08:59 PM New Version on the first post!
LuckyOrDead Oct 14, 2002, 07:37 PM The Scenario is very playable but a little easy :p
I think you still have to many unit - mostly the battleships :D
I like all the ships, because they let you get rid of all the fog but there are just to many of them. Maybe give less ships but give them more movement :goodjob:
It is a pain to change all the units off of warrior that first turn.
Just change the settings for what to build :D I think that will work
Plus my earlier post about this scenario not being on earth was just because I pictured that this scenario was that rome never fell and was in modern times conflict. I just misunder stood that.

I will give you less battleships and tanks and more movement for the battleship. Maybe 1 or 2. As for setting what the cities will build at the start, what you said isnt possible even though I wish it was;) .
soccerrules Oct 15, 2002, 12:10 PM New version on first post!
soccerrules Oct 17, 2002, 07:12 PM Ah Someone please comment!
stalin006 Oct 17, 2002, 07:16 PM well the name is not really helpful.......neat ROMAN scenario? everyone comes looking for an acctuall historic roman empire scenario
stalin006 Oct 17, 2002, 07:19 PM oh....and u should put ur new version on the first page, so just replace the old one, more people will download it
stalin006 Oct 17, 2002, 07:23 PM well ur new version improvement is quite good, u should do a real roman scenario, u can look for a map and do it ......but what do i know.......
Phoenix Oct 22, 2002, 02:42 PM A good first attempt. :)
Tip: if you want to make a really good scenario it cannot be to easy or to hard. It has to be possible to win with most of the civs you play with and to lose with them to.
Football (as in Soccor) is indeed great.

Maybe I will make a version of the scenario where the Roman mainland is deleted and the settlements on the other continent are made better! Want me to?
Do you want me to change the name of the scenario?( I made it up in about 1 second :mischief: )
