Australia today finished of a comprehensive innings victory over pakistan, with pakistan scoring the 4th Lowest match score in history. They were dismissed for 59 in the first innings, setting a new record for Pakistan's lowest score in an innings. Australia finished their first innings at 310. They then proceeded to demolish Pakistan, who beat the record set just a day before by scoring a pitiful 53. This from a country who was pitted as World Cup grand finalists against australia but 4 years ago, and a team that is one of the better countries in the world. And all this in 50+ degree heat in Sharjah.

Ominous signs from the world champions, methinks.

You must be desperately worried about the form of the Waughs though .....

not worried about the Waughs at all. They've still got a couple of years left in them. If they actually needed to fire, I think they would (and have when they've been needed). Steve does a lot more than just bat, and although it seems Mark is in a bit of a slump at the moment, he's been there before, and then really come out and blown the critics away. And we have a huge amount of depth too. There are so many others who could fit into the team.

No - what we need right now is a big debate about their places and who should replace them .

Best chance we've got....... ;)

Best chance we've got is that the Aussie team lock themselves in their hotel room, cause we ain't gonna win any other way.

lol very true, mordhiem.

Mark is still a phenomenal slip fielder anyway. I think he got at least 2 catches in the 2nd innings. And from memory, the Waughs play their best against england anyway.

And onto England, reports say your taking an inexperienced pace attack into the ashes. I don't think that's a very good idea, they played the Aus A team or somewhat, and they reported back that the attack wouldn't dent the Australian top order. And you're without Thorpe as well, although i don't think he would've gone very well with all the sledging etc :D

Nope we dont stand a chance. Hardly worth your guys turning up.

COL!!! WHAT ARE YOU SAYING???

Oh, I see. False sense of security and all that. Build up their confidence/arrogance, then hit them with, erm, Ashley Giles.

Yay, good plan. :crazyeye:

You spotted the flaw in my plan.

The word 'false' there aint too convincing.

Maybe Jones and/ or Armison will come good. At least they can bowl fast even if they cant bowl straight

Simon Darkshade

The faster they bowl, the harder Gilly will hit them back over their head for six. :goodjob:

And now Steve Waugh is back in awesome form, with a magnificent unbeaten century in the 3rd Test, including 20 runs off an over to get there with Glenys McGrath at the other end. :D

That will put paid to the scuttlebutt about his form and place.
As for Mark, he is not batting badly, but is simply getting out to good balls early, or just when he looks set. This is nothing new for M. Waugh, and he should be kept in the team for another big series against the Poms, slaughtering him as he did last time.

In every position and every department of cricket, Australia is ahead of the rest, and particularly ahead of the poor little Poms.

As the slaughter grows closer, so does the anticipation.

Who will score the most runs in the series for each side, and who will take the most wickets? Give yer nominations, and even yer numbers.
Winner gets an all expenses paid trip to a Darkshade gulag on a day visit. :D

England:

Runs - Vaughan
Wickets - Does it matter?

Australia:

Runs - S. Waugh
Wickets - McGrath

:mwaha:

The Australian team has a plan to ambush and kill Vaughan in the First Test. He won't make it. :D

England - Runs - Butcher
England - Wickets - Gough, if he plays, could get to double figures. Could.

Australia - Runs - Ponting - 523
Australia - Wickets - Warne - 29

I still have to see the teams yet, but

Australia - Runs - Gilchrist/Hayden
Wickets - Warne

Dunno about England, need to see the team.

Sigh.

Australia
Runs: Haydn :504
Wickets : Warne : 25

England
Runs: Trescothick: 400
Wickets: Er - Caddick : 15

England - Wickets - Gough, if he plays, could get to double figures. Could.

I'll have a bet that Gough wil never bowl another ball in test cricket. His career is effectively over due to injury.

i thought there was an injury cloud over caddick as well

He was caught by a heavy breeze, and has never been seen again. :D

Thers' an injury cloud over every England bowler. They play way too many county matches and their fitness is always suspect.

I never knew what intercostal meant until I followed English cricket ....

Can I use a dictionary, or will I have to follow English cricket too?

Rib injury that all our bowlers seem to get.

Must be caused by turning to watch the ball disappearing over the boundary.

I'm going to have to dig out my rant about the Ashes from last year, and update it in order to further slag off at the current England squad.
And we are only 2 wickets away from a clean sweep against Pakistan, which would make it 9 in a row. Warney currently has 27 wickets in the series, and 8 for this match.

When I have time, I'll do a rundown on each of the England squad so that you'll know what to expect......

When is the 'Australia's humiliation of England' thread going to start?

lets at least wait until the start of the first test. If they get that far...
