View Full Version : Screwy AI

Only after posting elsewhere did I read I was supposed to post scenario issues here, so I'm copying it over.

Scenario AI seems pretty screwed up for me. Their main concern seems to be producing warriors and almost nothing else. I have Splintered Court and Return of Winter files showing this (team mates). I also noticed this in The Momus with enemies having stacks of ~30-40 warriors and just the occasional archer, swordsman or horseman. AI seems perfectly fine in custom games.

there is a problem with Always War Gameoption which is probably enabled in this scenario. You can use my fix for this if you want. copy these files into Assets\python

Tried it out with Against the Wall and it seems to have fixed all my problems. It's nice to play against an AI that's actually smart enough to attack you.

I've been playing (regular games, not scenarios) with this fix applied, and I've noticed that the AI builds catapults now. I haven't noticed any new problems introduced by the fix. (The AI could use some work on how it uses catapults - it is willing to send them around enemies unescorted, and to attack enemies when there is no other unit around that can actually kill the enemy - but those are not problems introduced by the fix.) I think it would be a good idea to merge these changes into the next FfH2 patch.

I'm still getting this behavior in patch 'n' when I went back to do some of the scenarios I never got around to earlier. Unfortunately, the file links posted by Sephi a long time ago do not appear to still be active. Does anyone still have these files they could upload, or could someone describe the fix so I can just change the files myself?

Thanks!
