View Full Version : Deadly Chemicals Nov. 5, 2009
Vuldacon Nov 05, 2009, 12:08 PM I needed to make this simply Unit for EFZI2 Complete and thought I would upload it for any of you who might want such a unit.
It is a Beaker filled with What ever "Deadly Chemicals" you prefer
It is meant to be an Bombardment Unit, set as an immobile Cruise Missile.
I re-colored Smoking mirror's Chemical Attack Flc for the simple effect that looks good in game.
It works well to have a Chemical Plant auto produce this unit and you can use the Chemicals Resource and Images I have uploaded if wanted.
Included files:
Large and Small Civilopedia images and units_32.pcx.
DeadlyChemicalsDefault.flc (also used for the Fortify flc)
DeadlyChemicalsRun.flc
DeadlyChemicalsAttack.flc
DeadlyChemicalsDeath.flc
Adjusted .ini file
Sounds:
DeadlyChemicalsRun.wav
DeadlyChemicalsAttack.wav
DeadlyChemicalsDeath.wav
Read Me File
You can get the Zip here (http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=13597)
Previews are separate due to different Flc speeds...Much Faster in game and the Previews do not show the speeds they were made with:

Ozymandias Nov 05, 2009, 12:32 PM Twisted :goodjob: I see biochemical terrorism coming into play ...
Best,
Oz
Vuldacon Nov 05, 2009, 12:38 PM Yes Oz... and it "melts" Zombies too
Balam-Agab Nov 05, 2009, 02:01 PM Very nice Vuldacon!
p.s. those run and attack previews are trippy :crazyeye:
General 666 Nov 05, 2009, 06:23 PM That`s a cool fun addition ! All Mad Scientist wil be happy now.
Good Unit , Good Job. :goodjob:
Yabanjin Nov 05, 2009, 06:32 PM I don't normally download anything later than medieval, but... Yes Oz... and it "melts" Zombies too... I had to on reading that! Haha!
Vuldacon Nov 05, 2009, 06:35 PM The Previews are very slow motion for some reason... The Run and Attack are actually much faster in game.
Hikaro Takayama Nov 05, 2009, 06:49 PM That`s a cool fun addition ! All Mad Scientist wil be happy now.
Good Unit , Good Job. :goodjob:
Indeed! Igor! Fetch..... THE FORMULA! Muahahahahahaha! Ahahahahaaha! :mwaha:
...Ahem, I don't what came over me there... Nice unit. :D
crazyanswer Nov 05, 2009, 09:57 PM Aha~
What a lovely unit!
imperator1961 Nov 06, 2009, 04:07 AM Very good unit Vuldacon. I like it very much!
Bluemofia Nov 06, 2009, 07:34 AM Mmm... Laboratory grade Chlorine gas. :p
Very nice. :)
Vuldacon Nov 06, 2009, 09:32 AM  "Igor! Fetch..... THE FORMULA!"
It could be what ever you prefer it to be. I use it as an immobile Bombard Unit that is set as an immobile Cruise Missile. Tactical Missile is also flagged so it can Load into special Transports that only transport Tactical Missiles. Naturally, the AI will not use Land transports but the Human Player can :)
Otherwise, they serve to help the Defense in the Cities (Buildings) where located.
Auto Produced Only from a Chemical Factory and it uses Airlift, which is set up as Sewers between buildings so units can go from one building to another with a Sewer Access.
...Zombie enters building area... Deadly Chemicals are launched at him... Zombie is "Melted"
Grandraem Nov 06, 2009, 09:52 AM A+
Great work!:goodjob::)
Goldfool Nov 06, 2009, 03:06 PM Great stuff, I could use this.
Would it be much work to change the colour, actually only the death flc, maybe a gradient white-thru-brown.
Thorvald of Lym Nov 06, 2009, 06:29 PM Most useful.
:goodjob:
Vuldacon Nov 06, 2009, 06:59 PM Thanks guys... Glad some of you can use this simply unit.

Goldfool... it would be very simply to recolor the death because that only uses 6 colors :)
Hikaro Takayama Nov 06, 2009, 07:13 PM One idea for this unit in the "Mad Scientist"/Steampunk vein would be to represent Jaegerdraught... I.e. give it the ability to "mutate" (enslave) victims into Jaegermonsters or something like that...
From what I've seen in the Warhammer Fantasy mod, if you give units with lethal bombardment the enslave ability, they CAN, in fact, enslave. :D
..Now where's Igor at? :mwaha:
Vuldacon Nov 06, 2009, 07:28 PM Hikaro Takayama... Yes, that does open some other possibilities.
...It is odd how some of the most simple things can offer more than other more difficult to make, complex things for a game. I think of these things as "embellishments" that can add Fun Flavor and variety to a game.
Ozymandias Nov 07, 2009, 02:11 PM Yes Oz... and it "melts" Zombies too
Yes, folks, it's two - TWO! - Mad Scientist Formulas in one!
:D
Wolfhart Nov 07, 2009, 02:44 PM From what I've seen in the Warhammer Fantasy mod, if you give units with lethal bombardment the enslave ability, they CAN, in fact, enslave. :DTrue, just remember that any unit with Cruise Missile flag will never enslave while bombarding since cruise missile units dies => loses combat.
Lancaster Nov 07, 2009, 06:27 PM If only there was someone throwing the flask, this would be the perfect unit for me.
themanuneed Nov 08, 2009, 08:23 AM Cool unit Vulda, very special indeed! Twisted, that's the word... can't wait to see it in action ;)
W.i.n.t.e.r Nov 09, 2009, 02:15 PM I like it - its... different but nonetheless useable ;) muhahahahehehe letz make a little chemical experiment with the neighbouring city and see what happens
Vuldacon Nov 09, 2009, 07:51 PM It is a very simple Bombard Unit to serve the purpose and I like it in game :)
I only uploaded this simple thing in case anyone else might have a special use for it too.
Just don't ask yourself, "how is this thing launched?"... your not suppose to question that
Actually, I do explain in EFZI2 Complete that the "Nerds" rigged a special launching device for them but that is not seen.
