Hello and thanx to anyone who might read and answer.

I know that might be a noob question, but i have a problem and i can not find an answer even after hours of searching.....:cry:

i can not play maps or mods with more than 18 civs...there is always a reading problem of the map...e.g. carter mod with 18/24/32 civs...there are two files, one with fixed starting positions and one with random seeds...the one with randoms seed works fine, but the fixed one does not...just the 18 civs one works....

Any idea?? :confused:

Hi, welcome :wavey:

Civ4 and its variants use a file called CivGameCoreDLL.dll to define a lot of the rules of the game. The Windows version allows this file to be overridden by a custom version, but the Mac versions have the standard DLLs embedded in the main program, and will not read a custom DLL.

Mods with more than 18 civs have a custom version of this file that changes the limit on the number of permitted civs. The Mac ignores the change, so it discards any civs with IDs greater than 18.

So there is no chance for mac users to play maps with more than 18 civs?

This is a minor problem that I am seeing in BTS 3.19, no mods. The ships-of-the-line all show up as completely the color of their empire, from the top of the flag to the waterline. Also, their sails all have the blackened areas that other sailing ships only show when damaged in battle. Is this the way it is supposed to look or a problem with my graphics card? Otherwise the units all look fine.
