Well done Salomo, my serious effort that got corrupted was a century later. 1500's is very good, as it was really hard to be very fast on a large map with this leader and speed!

In my second submission I was just inches away from finishing 14XX, but Bismark(!) had become so big that i couldn't hurry any settlers to fill the last 5 or 6 squares I needed without dropping below the population limit. In the end i won by trading away anything i could turn into money and putting the culture slider on max.

Truth be told, that was not the highest score submitted this update. I posted a 2.1 million score game. This wasn't exactly how I'd hoped it would be announced :(. However, it was rejected for some unknown, trivial reason. I didn't want to make too big a deal about it, but I thought the staff might give it a 2nd look. Maybe ask me for the save in question. I'm not going to press them for it (other than laying down a little guilt in this post :mischief:) I understand they're volunteering their time, but if it were me, I'd at least examine closer some of the more outstanding games like TheHawk's 152 hour game if it had been flagged. I would want that game in the HoF. I'd spend the 15 minutes to validate the 152 hour effort.

On the bright side, I am glad that TheHawk's 1.8 million score did not go unnoticed. Hawk, How upset would you have been to see that your 1.8 didn't make the high score of this update? Now imagine how upset you'd be if your game had been rejected. It's a horrible feeling.

I started this journey in early January. Somewhere in the summer I didn't submit a victory for over a month - trying endlessly to get a Space Colony with unsuitable leaders and conditions.
Looking at your score, I'm ready to drop down the rankings as soon as you finish. (Of course, I could spend my time improving a few of my own scores now :))

Is it just my machine, or is the Statistics --> Game Counts tab not displaying the table? Even though I've been negligent in my Civ playing, I still want to post the stats on the group's progress and I use that tab to do my calculations.

Thx Dynamic, I always thought I wouldn't enjoy managing a large empire (favoring the OCC and minimal city culture games,) but I find it quite fun. That was just my warm up game. I'm going for the 3 million mark. I think 2.5 mil will be easy.

I am crazy. I am obsessed with Civ. But I know crazy when I see it. Your 2.1 game was ridiculously insane. I can't imagine the work involved. I dreaded trying and when I finally did it, I cried to myself all game when I sushied a time victory. I crashed two games en route.
